Cheap Car Rentals in Alaska

Staff very helpful and pleasant when I had a question.

Drop off and return is confusing. Could use more directional signage.

I did have to buy additional windshield washer fluid but was compensated for it. That time of year an extra bottle in the trunk would have helped. The service was excellent and friendly. The return crew was there early in the morning which helped make the flight.

Hari took above-and-beyond care of us; we felt like we were so spoiled! And, everything about our trip in Alaska was lovely because she helped us get organized in places to visit for food and in our wrap-up in dropping the car off with extra time and a different location! Amazing experience. <3

Wish your website had it listed if the vehicles have 4wd i been having to rent trucks so I know for sure i have 4wd. Please list it o ur website! The ladies behind the counter have excellent customer service makes me want to rent from them everytime. Couldve been better also is more 4wd & some loyality program!

They charged me extra for gas while I filled the tank full. Then I had to call the customer service to refund the extra.

Great service. Prices were high.

I felt rushed when picking up the car so I could not take detailed photos of the entire car before I left the lot for scratching or damage.

Check-in took a while, but everything else was great.

Hidden fees.

Some time after exiting the rental facility the check engine light for oil service needed came on which was frustrating given the amount of mileage we anticipated driving. The comfort of a Toyota 4Runner is average at best. The seats are very rigid and overall comfort significantly decreases the perceived value of renting it.

Very competent friendly staff. Nice that the car was ready and waiting for us. Wish there were more options, but understand that the market is a bit crazy now.

It was a complete disaster and the manager refused to chat with me.

Pickup at the airport was quick and easy, especially with the car on the airport property and a short walk from the terminal. The car was better than advertised, clean, few miles, and performed perfectly. Check in and out, late in the evening for both times, was performed by knowledgeable and friendly people.

Alamo did not answer their telephone at 1:17 am when my plane landed in Fairbanks, AK. I had arrived early and wanted to pick up my rental car at 1:17 am. The contracted pickup time was set for 10:00 am. All Alamo's advertised information said they were open to 1:30 am. Later that same morning, I arrived at 10:58 am for my 10:00 am pickup. Alamo had given away my rental. No phone call. Nothing to see if I was on the way. And the desk clerk was dismissive and not the least bit apologetic about it.

This is another example of the miscommunication that goes on here with the Kayak website!!!!!! I RENTED MY CAR THROUGH ENTERPRISE!!!!! YOU ARE ASKING ME TO GIVE A REVIEW FOR HERTZ CAR RENTAL!!!!!! REALLY

The agent that we worked with at the desk was friendly and did upsell us from a Chevy Spark to an VW Atlas SUV and did let us know that there would be a $60 price difference per day. We accepted that and accepted his initial final charge. He did NOT tell us the check out process with the car upon leaving the airport and no one was working at the booth for check out when we were leaving and we already were running late because the process took longer than it should have. The tank was only half full when we got the car and the car did not have America USB chargers for our phones (only micro USB). Again, had we known this, we would have not taken that car but again...there was no one working the booth and we had to be to our next appointment. Upon returning the car, the woman checking us is was not friendly or accommodating. Then, when we asked her for a copy of the checkout report after she told us "everything looks good, you are free to go" she let us know that someone would email us a copy along with a receipt. Well, we have not received a check in report or an itemized receipt and we were charged way more than we were had initially been told. We were already being price gouged for a three day car rental and now we have additional charges that we were not expecting. The whole process added stress to our trip and now is causing a massive headache after the fact.

Didn’t get what we ordered. Waited two hours to change to something we didn’t ordered. When drop off the cat the rental record were totally wrong with other renters name and credit card. Took a long time to fix that and still got charged more than what we agreed to at the end. Need to talk to someone when get back home to take care of this.

The staff at Fairbanks AK treated us very good and were excellent to deal with. Would lease a vehicle through National anytime. Thanks
