a car was ready; the agent saved me a long walk by driving it up to where I waited. The agent was courteous and helpful. The instructions for returning the car were given by another agent. They were clear and easily followed. Altogether, a good experience.

Next car may be your next car also. All car companies @BWI are all off site together and require a shuttle, so go with the cheapest for the size you like essentially. ( Except SiXT which had poor service in past).

The car was good, pick up was ok and fairly easy, but drop off was confusing (maybe blame Google maps for taking me the wrong way) and no one in the booth to take back the car, so I had to walk towards check in counter before the assistant from the counter met me half way and took my keys. No receipt received, so only guessing at the “extra” fees incurred.

I went to the counter but didn't finish the booking since the agent required that I produce all of my insurance papers not just my insurance card...which I had. This is the typical proof of insurance. They had some questionable reason for this requirement but it was obvious that it was just a ploy to force me to purchase their expensive insurance. I walked away and didn't finish the booking.

Thrifty had no available cars with a 3 hour wait for people with reservations. It was an awful experience.

Although I had a reservation, Thrifty did not have any cars available when I arrived. In order to make the event I was attending, I had to find another rental car agency and pay double the amount of my Thrifty reservation.

The guy behind the desk kept rushing me to read through the contracts. He starting saying “push continue” within 5 seconds of the contract appearing. well buddy I need to read there’s a lot of financial stuff on these documents especially with added insurance

Understanding that they were swamped, the Budget employees appeared to be doing their best but they were clearly understaffed. The windows on my vehicle were so dirty that I had to stop and buy window cleaner and paper towels to clean them myself. I'm not a neat freak, but I could barely see out of the windows. There was a key fob in the passenger seat when I picked up the car, but I found out many miles later that it was the wrong key fob. It wouldn't work for anything. We eventually found the correct key fob underneath the passenger seat. The car was comfortable and got better than expected gas mileage.

Service was slow, car wasn't what I expected.

My reservation was for a Nissan Pathfinder (3 row SUV) or similar. I received an email the morning of my reservation confirming my reservation was up to date. I arrived at BWI car rental building and I was told there would be a 4 hour delay to pick up my car. I was told I couldn't leave the premises as they would be calling out loud my name whenever a car was available. Whenever I went to the desk to ask for an update I would get a terrible look and a "I don't know sir" response. I waited and waited with two hungry 4 year old twins in the waiting room until I was finally approached and told that no 3 row SUV vehicles had been returned and that they couldn't tell me how much longer it would be. I had to accept a chevy equinox (much smaller 2 row SUV) that reeked of cigarette smell and we barely fit for the same price. I feel that the same way that people are penalized / charged for returning the car late, I should receive a refund for being given my car 4 hours later and a car that was lesser than what I paid. Terrible experience overall with very poor communication from staff.

Was unable to rent vehicle after being booked for several days prior to pick up. On day of pick up did not accept payment method that they initially used when booking rental. Waiting for refund!!

This is the 2nd time Dollar has taken my reservation & then when I arrive to pick up the vehicle tell me it’s going to be a 2hour wait for the car. I’m a business traveler with scheduled meetings & this is an incredibly poor business practice on behalf of Dollar.

Fast pick up and return. Reserved a mini van for 6 adults. They didn't have a minivan available when we arrived. They tried to put us in a smaller vehicle. Eventually they borrowed a minivan from another rental company.

The van was dirty when picked up. I had to leave the windows open overnight and use fabreeze to get the odor out of the seats. There was a dust buildup all over the steering column and dashboard. Very unusual for a rental.

Pickup was a disaster. They said they had no cars -- why do we make reservations? It took an hour to finally get a car. The attendant pointed at the Tesla we rented and we asked her about charging cables (so we could plug in at a more easily found "level 2" charger, not just use a Supercharger) and she just shrugged. Drop-off was also frustrating because the attendant didn't know if we get recharged for using a Supercharger or just a flat fee, so we left without knowing what the charges were (turns out it's $35 if you return it with less than 70% and also you will be recharged for whatever you ring up at a Supercharger). The car was great, the facility is overtaxed and understaffed.

Unless you're a Gold member expect to wait awhile for your vehicle.

Pickup was an absolute nightmare. 25 people at least waiting for their car rental at Hertz. Initially told 30 minutes… it took over 2 hours. I will never rent from Hertz again.
