I got a flat tire while driving in the countryside of Ireland. There wasn't a spare tire in the car. I had to call a tow truck which towed me to the nearest town where I had to wait over night until the shop opened up. When I returned the car I tried to ask for a refund for the new tire I had to buy and the man told me it was my fault the tire blew and that because I didn't buy extra insurance the cost of the tire was my responsibility. Be careful when renting from Budget. It's not a car rental agency so much as it is a used car lot. Once you've left with their car they stop providing any service unless its to take more of your money when you return it.

Fuel wasn’t at full at pick up despite us having to bring it back full. 48 hours after we returned the hire car and we still haven’t got our deposit back.
Our £200 deposit still has not been refunded. We delivered the car back between 16:00 and 17:00 on the 20th April and were told it would be refunded later that evening. We phoned this morning asking when it was completed and told it hadn’t happened yet. It’s now 15:06 on the 21st and it’s still not appeared?

The gas tank is never full when you pick up the car (on 2 occasions). So you are either penalized if you leave it a little short on fuel (I was) or you make a fuel donation to sixt if it’s over fueled at all. This almost seems deliberate to me.

Sixt would not honor my Kayak reservation, they refused to rent a car to me. They said they couldn’t because I was over 75. But they knew my age when they made the reservation. It was a horrible experience. We planned a two week driving trip. They should have not made the reservation. And when I was at the counter, they should have found a way to get me a car. I’m very disappointed with Kayak and Sixt for doing that to me. I was able to find a Walk-Up rental from Enterprise which was hundreds of dollars more expensive than my Kayak reservation. I feel that Kayak and/or Sixt should compensate me for my loss.

Our experience with Sixt was the best. We always have low expectations when it comes to car rentals from previous experiences. Everything was professionally handled, took very little time, the car was great, and check-in and out were seamless. Thank you for a great experience!
