Cheap Car Rentals in Belfast

When I went to pick up the car, I was sent to the wrong pick up location. The type of car I ordered wasn't available and so I had to complete a new booking at a more expensive price and change drop off location

Rental office closed upon car rental return at 6:20 AM… no follow-up receipt or acknowledgement of car return…

I booked through Kayak and when I got to the Budget desk there was no record of it and we were unable to get a car

Our £200 deposit still has not been refunded. We delivered the car back between 16:00 and 17:00 on the 20th April and were told it would be refunded later that evening. We phoned this morning asking when it was completed and told it hadn’t happened yet. It’s now 15:06 on the 21st and it’s still not appeared?

Unexpectedly hit with a £1500 deposit that was hidden in the small print that you don’t actually get a copy of. The customer before me had an even higher price. Sales reps obviously know this is dropped on people picking up cars as they immediately go from lovely to defensive and aggressive as soon as the customer is like “wait, what?” You can waive it by paying 150% extra to your initial rental….sort that out and they also take another £100 deposit for fuel! Hired a medium car and got a tiny Kia Rio with a driving performance tracker box.

Had vehicle booked for pickup at 10 am , arrived at 11am, and they had given vehicle away, advised they only hold for 30 mins of pickup time, and were very rude and not helpful, then they finally found another vehicle (basically same one) and wanted us to pay an additional 800 british pound sterling on top of rental agreement. So we went to enterprise and received a vehicle from them I would never recommend this Company

When I arrived at Belfast Aldergrove.. Hertz Which I usually book direct ..but made a mistake using KAYAK I spoke to Michael and advised me to ring the company as they had not insured the car …he was very apologetic…but there was nothing he could do ….he gave me a local number to ring …but I couldn’t speak to anyone . I just went outside and got a taxi which cost me £28 to get to my elderly mothers house ….don’t use KAYAK …speak to Hertz directly …they are a fantastic company …but because I used a 3rd party to book with them …there was nothing they could do. I will in future book with Michael direct as I always get 100% …I just made the mistake going cheaper through KAYAK.

I was charged an extra insurance product that wasn't in the pricing and left with no choice but to take it at the time. Fuel tank was also not full as per Ts & Cs. My fault for going to a lower quality provider than the main players but I won't be back. It would be cheaper to accept the higher headline costs from Budget or Hertz in future.

When I arrived they asked for £1200 Excess cover. This is on top of the £600 I was going to pay for the car. I did not use AVIS in the end
