Ad said located on the airport. I had to hike about a quarter of a mile to get to their office.. Ad lied as there were other car rental companies in the terminal. I was given a car with dings and scratches that were noted when I took the car but I was charged for additional damage that I certainly did not do ands might have been on the car at the start.. I was forced to pay for additional insurance that was not part of the quoted price. I have my own insurance but was still forced to pay about $100 more or walk back to the airport and rent from someone else.

The local operation is a scam The insurance was 3x the cost of the online rental ,and changed 4x ln a five minute conversation. We walked back to the airport with all of our luggage and rented from Hertz.

They did not have the car that I reserved. Also added additional fees at the pickup. They offered to take me to the hotel and deliver the car the next day, but we had already booked a tour that we needed the car for and honestly I didn’t trust them.

We arrived at Alamo and they did not have a vehicle for us. They said Kayak did not confirm whether Alamo had cars available. It was the worst car rental experience I have ever had.

Everything. Walked in to get car, and they wanted another $100+ out of me. I had my license and cash to pay for what I reserved online but they wanted more money and a credit card. Didn’t have credit card and I wasn’t about to pay more so I left.

They Hertz location ran out of cars and couldn’t tell us anything and left us stranded to start our vacation. Worst way possible to start vacation. Never will rent from Hertz again.

I reserved a car that said it was going to be about $800 usd for 11 days. The staff in Cozumel when I arrived said that the $2700 that was preauthorized on my card was only a deposit and the final charge would be much less. When I returned the vehicle he said he would just email me the final bill which ended up being $2,500 USD, more than triple the original quote. I realize that there were taxes, insurance etc but even the core cost of the rental was $1700 usd, still more than twice the original quote. I tried calling customer service but could not reach anyone.

The insurance was triple the rate for the car so we paid a lot more than anticipated. The car was not clean and even after we cleaned the windshield, it was covered with a haze and very difficult to see through at night.

The people at the pick up/drop off were very friendly and helpful.

The price quoted on Kayak doesn't mention the hefty insurance price. My car rental went from $40 to $240 with the required insurance.

I think all cars are newer now so you should get a good one. Price with minimal insurance is about $210 USD for a week. Don't think you get the price on the web cause you must add $17.00 per day insurance and this is not complete insurance! Always book exactly the car you want like size and transmission as they will not upgrade unless they charge a huge amount. Also don't hit the tires against the curb or they charge fir damage...the slightest tiny ding or scratch is mega money. If you get a ding have it fixed before you take it back and you'll save hundreds as body work is cheap if dine by you vs. them. They are along with their sister company Dollar the best on the island I think.

Very friendly staff and very thorough. It's a great car to get around Cozumel if you're exploring the island.

First off, it wasn't called Ace rental anymore on Cozumel, its Fox Car Rentals now. And secondly I wasn't expecting any more fees based on the price I reserved the car for. I was confused that the company charged me an extra fee for insurance, and I thought that was included in the price that I reserved it for. It would of been nice if they programmed their address in the GPS for an easy way to get back to the drop off. Or showed us how to some of the features work.
