The worst experience, I arrived a few minutes after 12pm time of my reservation, because my flight was delayed, those people canceled me, they did not give me the car, the woman who attended me was rude, I had to rent somewhere else budged rent a car, on it airport, the man who attended me was super kind and helpful . I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND EUROPCAR, TOTAL SCAM.

Despite the language barrier they tried to communicate with us. When we ran into an issue we were able to reach customer service at night and they were able to send someone out to look at the car within 15 minutes. Once the mechanic determined that the car was unsafe to drive customer service was able to procure us a new car the next morning.
The issue with the car was that the brake pads had completely worn out to the point that the car was unsafe to drive. We should've never been rented a car where the brakes were worn out to that extent. That's a safety issue as we could've potentially fallen off a mountain since we were driving through mountainous roads in the Andes mountains. Instead of apologizing for the issue and offering us say an upgrade for a car or doing anything to apologize all they did was offer the exact same make and model (Chevy Spark) the next morning. On top of all that when we returned the car we were over the mileage limit. After some discussion they only knocked $30 off the total mileage overage charge. Given how poorly their cars are maintained I won't recommend using them despite their low cost unless you do a full inspection on their cars since if they're willing to rent you a car without inspecting something as important as brakes then you never know what else might go wrong with the car.
First of all it wasnt the vehicle that i rented, then the prices were ridiculously high. and manual transmission.... and 2 row seats. Never again.

The rental was quick and easy
When I had to leave a day and a half early, they would not refund last day of rental.

Price will be considerably higher than your rate quote when you reserve on line. Quoted $98 in Cuenca online reservation. Paid $239 there, only after arguing that the agent in Quito said he would guarantee a rate in Cuenca (hand written quote) of $200, including 1,000km, and upgrade. He said to have them call from Cuenca if there was any problem. She would not call. Insurance MUST be taken out according to the agents in both cities, which adds $20 per day. Front tires on car rented in Cuenca were almost bald. Made me nervous since we would be traveling windy roads up and down hills. WILL not rent with Thrify again!
