Good car for our needs - Jeep Wrangler. Had 30k mikes but ran and worked very well on and off roads in Texas. The car wasn’t as well cleaned as one might generally expect but a little dust was not a problem for us. Gas wasn’t totally full but when we pointed that out they immediately marked it on our receipt and just said return it with more or less the same level. Helpful, friendly staff and super easy pick up and drop off at the smallish El Paso airport. All in all great.

Having trouble getting a refund for my rental, a car was not rented to me because we could not drive the car to the border. Called Rentalcars.com and they are not helpful, they stated they couldn’t verify that I in fact did not get a car. This is very frustrating, no one seems to be able to assist in getting refunded.

I was quoted a price of $48.93, but ended up paying $79.05 after a 15% sales tax and almost $20.00 in other charges, like license recoup, energy recovery, concession recovery, customer facility charge. They get you one way or another.

Avis rental did not open on time and also gave us a very dirty Nissan that ended up having the check engine light come on. Swapped it for Malibu which was much nicer. Then when we turned vehicle in they tried to tack on extra charges for fuel and such. My husband had to argue with them about it. He was very disappointed. The tank was full. There was no reason to add any charge whatsoever.

The Toyota Corolla I rented got great gas mileage out on the highway. Bluetooth connected easily, the car was cleaned, smelled clean and was smooth riding. I had 3 large suitcases and a carry on and they fit fine.

Price was ok. No line at pick-up (which should have warned me)

It took two people ten minutes to check me out (not including actual car pickup). During that time, I saw another person in line leave out of frustration. The car they rented me did not have a remote key, even though it should have had one. Only one door lock on the whole car. Had to lock the doors before closing, and I accidentally locked the key in the trunk once, which required me to call AAA. I'm positive they charged someone else that expensive key replacement fee in the past, and never got a new key.

When initially booked and charged that was supposed to be the total. We were charged an extra $130 (approximate) when getting the car. Also, they didn't have all the cars and luckily we got the last one but others weren't as fortunate. I will not use Kayak again as it was false advertisement. Promised a lower fee but no refunds if payed up front. However the price would have been the same if we didn't pay up front. Really dissapointed.

Rental location in airport hard to find, as there is no actual staffed Dollar desk. Signage of where to go / what to do is poor at best. However after finally getting car, car drove good. BUT, upon pickup, windshield washer "low" fluid warning light immediately kept flashing as soon as started up upon getting. Person in rental area said should reset, but never did. Had to get at my own expense after on the road, windshield washer fluid to refill after I myself checked level, as it was indeed low --- EMPTY. What's worse, is that when returned the car yesterday, told the person checking the car in about the problem and expense, and the check-in person didn't care and offered no relief.
