This was an old van that had 62k miles on it and was in need of maintenance. It shimmed and was noise. Not the comfort level I expected from a rental. Also, the service staff was good but under manned. Nobody present when I returned my vehicle.

Our flight into Omaha was delayed and we didn’t arrive until after the Alamo rental counter closed at 1:00 AM but the rental agent that helped us in the garage with pickup and checkout was absolutely FANTASTIC! He couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful.

Appreciated small SUV style Ford EcoSport for travelling, had just enough space for all our luggage. Didn't have great gas mileage but very good otherwise (comfort, driveability, storage space, flexibility of putting back seats down for luggage, etc.)

Staff was extremely helpful. No frowns. No hassles. Just customer-service oriented.

We arrrived at the Avis/Payless counter at 6 pm. Only ONE rep for both companies. When we checked our car for scratches, there were several, so we had to flag a Payless rep. She was excellent - immediately went to get another car and made sure we were satisfied. HOWEVER, the car obviously hadn't been washed. We didn't mind, but. . .

Hertz did not honor the rate quoted on Kayak. The final price was considerably higher. Also, it appears their car servicing person cleaned the inside of the windshield with the same rag used to check the oil. Nearly bald tires wew also a concern.

The vehicle had 42,000 miles on an economy car, so it was not luxurious, but it reliably served our needs. Last I checked, our $250 deposit hadn’t been returned, but it has only been a few days.

Car wasn’t safe to drive. Employees resolution was to return it to original rental location (not nearest thrifty location) and pay for a more expensive rental vehicle or to not drive it on a day with wind, but “it’s going to be windy over the next few days”. (Wind was 20 mph on the day car was blowing all over the road)

What could have been better was the fact that I only had a choice between a Jeep or a Chevrolet truck and I'm a short and round person and my husband has bad knees. I chose the Jeep thinking it would be easier to get into, in which it wasn't. I called for 3 days after I got the Jeep hoping I could trade it for something easier to get into, but they didn't have anything available!

Pick up was fine, the late night staff was nice. The car was the right size for our needs.

We reserved a luxury vehicle and got a full size vehicle. The radio mechanics didn’t work, the car was filthy on the outside, there was a star in the windshield and other body damage that was not gone over with us at pick up. Drop off was complicated after hours. I didn’t have the paperwork to fill out with me so had to leave the garage and find my uber who was circling the airport waiting for me and then take it back up. There was no pen provided to fill out this mandatory paperwork so I had to scrounge one up. Just a disappointing experience overall.

They don't make it obvious that there rentals are only allowed in the state you are renting them from and the surrounding states. They will tell you it's in the fine print.

The car pick up was at the airport and I did not need to use a shuttle, there was not much of a line so it was quick

The guy giving me the keys was rather high pressured with wanting me to take his insurance which I declined because my personal insurance and even my visa covers me, he asked to see my insurance card and quized me on who my insurance was through, which was odd. He also tried to sell the gas return option rather enthusiastically, felt like there was a commission on extras. Car smelled awful, like old cigarettes and body odor. Back seats dirty. It was a very dated SUV that drove rough. Wiper blade on driver side needed replaced badly. And all this for a high price.
