They were closed at 6pm on a Saturday at the airport. I spent over an hour trying to find another car to rent, to no avail and ended up having to book a room at a hotel for the night. Not happy.

Jon, who was working at Hertz actually, was amazingly helpful and kind to me when I got in late. He is one of the most friendly people I’ve dealt with in my many years of traveling for work. I don’t want him to leave that desk, as he’s so wonderful at dealing with customers, but that man deserves a promotion. And if not that, a raise. The lady at the MKE counter told me there were no cars and she was closed, but I was able to get a reservation online, so she then said “I told you we didn’t have any cars, why did you do that…just a minute, I’ll ask my boss” I waited about another 15 min and then she said into the phone “oh great, it’s a one way”. She then said “well, I guess I have to give you this car” So I said, “oh, I’m sorry, you don’t sound happy” and she said, “well I’m losing a car ma’am”. I did finally get a car-but it took forever and she tried to make me feel bad for renting a car!

I work in hospitality and legit have never seen such racial profiling. The old white ladies at every counter and agency including Alamo are all programmed to give non white customers a hassle. I sat and saw white after white in and out within seconds. Speaks to the culture of oak creek, Gen Mitchell airport, and its predominately white staff! Black travelers and renters be advised that the agents here will profile you and give you a hard time and steeper soft holds on your cc. Do better!

Car was filthy, inside and out. Rear tire was low on air and various service alerts sounded daily. The car rental company hasn't cleared any of the previous alerts. There have been numerous tire pressure warnings dating back to may 2022.

We picked up a car but it had been returned just 2 hours before. The car had not been cleaned, had white residue throughout the inside & had not been vacuumed. The car also had very squeaky breaks when backing up...and one of the tires kept losing air pressure. In the week I had it, I needed to fill the tire twice.

when I got to rental counter in Mke- Marie argueed with me re. me wanting to return the car with a full tank of gas- so I got taken- a 10 gallon tank at $2 a gallon - and was charged 27....

Our reservation for a speciality van was at noon. We arrived at the location at 12:07 and the location was closed. The sign on the door and the website both said the location was open until 2:00. Avis was very unhelpful, insisting that it was my fault for “missing my appointment.” I told them that there were several steps they could have taken to make the situation a more customer service friendly experience, when the rental office saw they had a specialized reservation at noon, and they closed early, they should have had the courtesy to call us to alert us that our reservation was at closing time. The evening before, I called Avis to confirm the reservation, at that point the agent should have mentioned that the location closes at the time of my reservation. Neither steps were taken. I ended up having to drive to an airport location, and pick up a much smaller car, they didn’t have my specialty van in stock. I now have to pay $400 in shipping to get the remaining items shipped that was intended to go into the van. Avis customer service has been unhelpful, and maintains this is “my fault.” Buyer beware.

Although smoking in car is not allowed, they first gave me a "smokey" car where the smell made me sick. When I objected, they quickly moved me to another car - no hassles. But did not like that they tried to pass off a smelly car on me.

If you’re making reservations through Kayak/or third party, don’t pay for their liability / collision coverage (Allianz Global Assistance) and wait to purchase those additional add-on’s when you pick up your rental! When I checked in at Avis to get my rental I was told the $11 I spent for the Allianz’s Global Assistance liability / collision wouldn’t cover the rental car if an accident / damage occurred and i needed to buy Avis liability coverage for an additional $33.

Thank you, I usually wait until I am near the airport before getting fuel. There was no gas station near the airport so I brought the car without filling it up. You might want to mention that when someone picks up the car.
