Good morning! Im finaly back to the states. When arrived at the GRU sao paulo airport 1,30 AM on the 19th of July there was no Alamo courtesy van available, the driver had been sleeping I was told by the localiza rental car co driver who gave me a lift to the Alamo office to pick up the rental. Upon arrival I found a sleepy attendant. I PRESENTED HER MY RESERVATION and the also the ibsurance previously bought on the site. She informed me I needed to buy new insurance from her since the INS. I HAD WAS NOT VALID IIN BRAZIL. she also td me my credit card was no good , so I gave her a new one...then she said my rental was for the city of Curitiba , about 300 miles away and she had no car was available at her location (GRU)anyway. SO BECAUSE I HAD MY 85 YEAR OLD FATHER AND 77 YEAR OLD MOTHER WITH ME I HAD TO TAKE A TAXI TO CURITIBA, THE DRIVER GAVE ME A " DEAL" AND CHARGED ME 1899 REALS, CLOSE TO 600 US DOLLARS. TO TAKE ME TO MY booked location, according to the Alamo woman. Once I arrived to Curitiba they tried to charge 4.5 times the amount on the rental, although waved the Sao Paulo , different location fee...Alamo in Curitiba, Brazil they froze 7000 reals from my credit card, about 2,7 thousand Dollars. Alamo mentioned again I had no valid insurance for Brazil and attempted to sell me insurance again., Since my card was froze up to the limit I could not enjoy and pay for tourist acticties such as dining, museum visits, shopping, etc... I make a formal request for Alamo or Kayak to pay me back my 600 dollars spend on the taxi. I have receipts, etc to back it up. Thank you very much, luiz A. PEREIRA
