They charged me for things I did not want! Crooks

When I arrived at the rental center, the line for Dollar wrapped around the entire building and no one was working at the counter. Rather than wait for an hour or more, I attempted to cancel my rental, only to find that Dollar had already charged my credit card. I’m currently in the process of disputing the charges with my credit card company.

The Dollar rental agency said they were "out of cars" when I got to the desk (even through they were renting cars to others in front of me and to those after me when I left the desk). Therefore, they said that I had to pay approximately $200 more than the rental agreement was made for. This is because they HAD to UPGRADE me to a higher priced car. I said that they didn't need to charge me more because they were low on vehicles. They said that because I made the agreement through KAYAK that it was an issue that I had to address with KAYAK and that they would not honor the contracted agreement. I guess I am not going to be using KAYAK again. I ended up canceling the contract that I made through KAYAK when at the Dollar rental desk and walked over to the Hertz desk and got a different car for $20 more than the price I was contracted with through KAYAK at the Dollar agency and went on my way. It was a BIG waste of time using KAYAK.

Everything was great except the person who checked me in. He was extremely rude without any reason, as if I were not a customer who paid for the car. He was loud and with a scolding tone when I handed him my driver license and debit card. My driver license is broken from the top, so he started playing with it with his hand causing it to get worst. When I calmly asked him to just take the information without tampering with it, he said good luck if they allow you out of the lot. When he took my debit card, he told me about the security deposit in a demanding way, as if I didn’t use it before or I didn’t know the process. I kept my calm in order not to complicate things, I asked my kids to go sit at the back benches so they don’t have to witness his disrespectful manners, and I walked away to the lot after he finished the transaction without commenting. I understand he probably had a rough day, and I hope this is not the case every day because it affects sales of the organization in the long run. Except him, everything else went smooth.

Counter was closed, could not collect car, had to rent elsewhere

Everything could be better. I was forced to buy extra insurance for 700 usd which I didn’t need. Car is poor and the breaks have technical issues

Got a cheaper suv than what I reserved and paid. Very old and dirty

Very slow pickup & not communicative on options/costs. (For exampe, agent at desk did not help explaining the difference between renting the $12 toll pass and paying a $7 surcharge on the pass-free option.)

They delivered the car with empty tanks without telling me. It was signed as full tank on the contract, car didn’t have a notice alarm. I run out of a gas in the middle of the night, on the road between Houston and Austin. I couldn’t find anybody the take me or help me. There was a car with a topless man, he waited in the car straining at me 45 minutes. I had to call police to take me to gas station . It was horrible. I am planning to take a legal action .
