They rented a car to me with registration expired in August 2020, and tag expired in August 2021. It also had no working horn. In short the car was not street legal. And it had not been legal for months. When I contacted them about the issue, it took them several hours to respond. Initially their only response was to replace the vehicle with another one. When I asked for some form of credit, they took $100 off the rental. (I had rented it for 17 days at a cost of over $60/day. The rental cost me over $1000.) This was not an adequate response to renting out a car whose registration had expired over a year ago and whose tag had expired months ago. The second replacement vehicle was at least street legal, but old and dirty. I wish I could report the responsible parties to law enforcement, but I probably don't have the time to deal with that. Perhaps someone reading this message will do that.

We were expecting a midsize vehicle, but when we arrived all they had was a minivan. I was concerned about it getting terrible gas mileage and being bigger than we needed, but it worked out alright. It was comfortable for the 2 weeks we had it and the gas wasn't as good as we would have liked, but we enjoyed the space and comfort for the amount of time we spent on the road.

I reserved a car online, and flew 800 miles . But when i arrived they told me i was not eligible to rent because of a deductible in 2004. Something I still have no knowledge of. Also poor customer service in Huntsville. Alabama.

The Lin’s seemed to move slow when I was picking up the car. There was only one person in front of me and it took a good 10 minutes to get me through the line. I’ve always thought car rental companies should pay attention to that metric. The last thing someone wants to be doing after a long airline flight is wait in a slow moving line.

The vehicles in my area were advertised falsely. When I arrived to Alamo to pick up the vehicle I found on Kayak, they told me no cars had been available for weeks and had no idea why I found otherwise. Kayak should follow this up. These types of issues can create unnecessary stress for travelers.

I liked the gas mileage of the car.

Agent at counter advised they did not have the full-size car I ordered, she had no idea of the different insurance coverages offered and what each one covered, told me to return the car with a gas receipt to prove I bought the gas that would be in the car, had to walk at least 1/4 mile to reach the car I rented, the rented car was dirty and had a service light on along with a low tire pressure light, I was advised there “may or may not” be someone there to receive my car upon return so I was to fill out the mileage, gas, condition report at drop off. I could go on but why bother, no more AVIS for me - very unprofessional.

Pick up and drop off was good. But trying to communicate with Avis call center was the worst. Of 4 or 5 reps I talked with, their english language was terrible and, with 2 exceptions, they didn't do what they said they would do. VERY frustrating

First car they put me in had check engine light and raft of electrical faults. Second car was a KIA Sportage . Ok on the good it was quiet and drove well. On the bad the seat was not very comfortable.

Budget charged me $50.00 for a car they would not give me because I don't have a credit card. They had no problem charging my debit card for the money though. It's absolutely ridiculous since most people that would rent from a car company called "Budget" most likely don't major credit cards. I want my money back.

I made a reservation a week and a half or so before I got to the airport, I needed the car so I could continue on my way when I landed in Huntsville. When I got there they had no cars, said they ran out. I had to find somewhere local to stay last minute. Which was a huge inconvenience at 10pm. it's bad enough that you can make a reservation and somehow they give the car to someone else, it probably would have been better if they had cancelled my reservation so I wasn't landing with the expectation that I was going to pick up a car.

The online reservation was easy, the airport pickup was easy, the people working at the counter were very pleasant and friendly, which, considering the sometimes less-than-pleasant people they often have to deal with, was wonderful. Drop off couldn't have been easier.

When I arrived to pick up the car, the car I reserved was available. I was informed that I could accept a two-car downgrade or an upgrade to a 15 passager van. Needless-to-say, neither was acceptable. It took nearly 45 minutes to convince the agent to request a car trade with one of the other ren

trading a car with one of the other rental car agencies, in order to honor the rental agreement should have been the 1st option. I was eventually given a Malibu instead of the premium vehicle that was listed on my reservation. Additionally, the car's gas tank was only 3/4 full. Better service.

After arriving at Hertz counter to pickup minivan I had booked, was told they had no minivan to rent. I don't think you should be able to book a vehicle on kayak only to find out upon arrival to pick it up that there is no vehicle available. Not sure who is at fault here... kayak or Hertz. Either way a bad experience when you make a reservation only to find out that reservations don't mean a thing.

Specifically asked at Nashville if I could change my payment method at drop off (different location) and was told yes. At drop off they said they can't do it, that I need to call Nashville, and they can. Called Nashville and they can't do it over the phone, I need to go to that location (i'm in a different state now). Called customer care- and they just had an attitude with me telling me if I want to change it I need to go to Nashville.

They upgraded me to a larger vehicle for no additional charge.

I returned it early before office hours. They billed me $229 which was more than the rental fee for an extra driver. But corrected it after my complaint.

Staff was helpful at counter. (Hertz counter) Vehicle was very clean.

No one meets you at drop off so you have to guess where to leave vehicle. I carried my paperwork in to the Dollar Office and gave it to rental employee. I was asked if email receipt was okay, which it was.

Hated everything . I was left without a car in Huntsville, Alabama.

The Dollar counter was closed. A sign referred me to Hertz’s counter. The sign said they were closed at 5pm. My flight was delayed. There was no alternative. So, no car. Disaster.
