Cheap Car Rentals in Indianapolis

When I showed up they had no cars available and tried to send me 40 minutes away to get a car. When I tried to go to a more convenient location they said it would cost $150 extra.

My son had 2 huge bags for school plus a few more smaller bags. The manager in garage offered us a suv that would fit everything. Very nice !!! Our smaller car would not have been able to move furniture either! Thank you!

They treated me well, they were kind and courteous and very knowledgeable

Everything was overall very good. Make sure you turn in the car at the correct time and ensure you’re booking details are accurate.

Went to pick up our rental, not even 2 hrs after having it all dash lights come on and it says malfunction, so my husband was at work and I went to take it back the guy was rude as ever talking about well he need to be here even though I had the contract and him on speakerphone while I’m at the counter. So then I have to go back up there again the next day for them to tell me they have no cars they had to upgrade the class so I went from a full size sedan to a Toyota 4Runner but what they seemed to have left out was that is be charged double my rental agreement daily.. very upset

There was a long wait for car pick-up. More staff was needed.

The price was twice what I thought it was when booked trough carrentals.com and the Truck was dirty, including pizza crust from the last customer, also the sticker on the License plate said 6-21 which appeared to be 6 months out of date. Other than that it was great.

Quick and easy. Let me change the name on the reservation last minute. Quick and fast pick up and drop off. Overall positive experience.

Everything was great except for having to wait nearly an hour in line to get to the rental desk (not enough employees):

I was not able to pick up the car. 1.5 hour wait to pick the car up and then had to wait for cars to be returned. Filing a better business bureau complaint as the contract was not filfilled

We rented a 15 person van and was given a 12 person van and when we told the guy at drop off we had the wrong vehicle, he replied with "oh, ok. Do you want the 15 person van now?"

I asked and PAID for a mid sized SUV. That’s not what I received. I received a small SUV; the attendant at the car rental counter even said it wasn’t mid-sized. In addition, waiting in line for 45 minutes to get the car was annoying. Not enough people were working at the car rental desk. But the amount of money I spent on medium sized SUV — compared to what I got — is absurd and I’m never renting through Kayak or Dollar again.

When I called for pick-up (offered on the website) the location didn't seem to have any kind of system in place for it. I was picked up by the employee that I spoke to on the phone in the rental car I was to take. I wasn't offered the option to not purchase additional insurance and the price turned out to be higher than I was offered on KAYAK. Upon return, the car wasn't checked and I had forgotten to fill up the tank again. So for a quarter of a tank I was charged $75 without any kind of notice or confirmation. I won't be using this location again.

I was not allowed to even rent the car! Even though it was perfectly fine to use my debt card to rent a car from Hertz a week earlier to drive to the airport, renting a car to drive from the airport back home was not allowed. I set up this rental about a month earlier and at no time did they tell me that I would need a credit card to obtain the car at the airport. I was stuck in Indianapolis overnight. Could not find an available car at with any other car rental companies, BUT WAS ABLE TO RENT A UHAUL TRUCK AND THAT IS HOW I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME THE FOLLOWING DAY!

They were an hour and 30 minutes late on having car ready which it me behind on my schedule. Instead of driving till midnight I was driving till 1:30am on my first planned leg of my trip.

Budget had a car for me when I arrived to pick it up, and I was nervous that they wouldn't given the issues that many rental car companies are having these days. However, it wasn't the car type that I had opted for. Also - I had requested a 12:00pm pick-up of the car on a Sunday. What I didn't know is that the Budget office that I rented from closes at 12:00 on Sundays. There should have been a warning to me that the office would be closed if I arrived when I said I was going to arrive.

It was not all Thrifty's fault. My Delta flight out of DSM was delayed so I missed my connection in ATL. That didnt get me into Indianapolis until 1:30 am. All car rental personnel had gone home. I immediately called Thrify and they told me I had to contact Price Line and they said they would look into refunding me. I had tried to let them know of the delay earlier in the day on their automative answering system but got no response. I walked out to the car lot and found an Avis employee that helped me out. So if you can help make sure Price Line refunds me, I will continue to use Kayak. Thank You Darrin Lynd

I made a reservation for a car through kayak back in March at this location. When I went to pick it up at my scheduled date and time, they informed me that the over $500 I had already put down was nowhere to be found and that this happens frequently with kayak (who uses CarRentals.com). They just don’t forward your money to the vendor. They made me a reservation for a car, but did not forward my money to Thrifty. Additionally, I waited in line for more than an hour to find this out with no explanation about why the waits were so long. The staff were clearly stressed and overworked and I was not the only person having issues at the counter. Another person and their family stood at the counter for no less than 45 minutes. No one got away from that counter in less than 15 minutes and nobody was telling the Gold members they could leave the line and go get a car. A Gold member stood behind me in line and was not told he had special privileges until he was nearly at the counter, which made me upset for him! The places was incredibly disorganized and the staff was under trained and stressed. They were just trying to get through people and were not kind or good at explaining anyone’s issues. I would literally never rent from this location again even if my rental had gone off without a hitch when I got to the counter. Waiting more than an hour to unsuccessfully pick up my reservation was ridiculous, and the explanation I was given at the time made 0 sense and I had to piece it together with a friend after I was told to get OUT OF THE LINE and figure out my issue on my own. Just absolutely horrible. I might change or update this review if I ever get a refund of the money I paid in March for a car I was unable to pickup from this disorganized, overbooked location.
