My cancellation was not granted ended up getting charged for something I didn’t use, poor customer service
I arranged for a 5 am pickup. There was no shuttle. I was then waiting for the office to open at 6am as was posted at the office. By 6:10 there was still no one. I rented a vehicle from Avis. I will not be using hertz again.
Ease - process was painless and relatively efficient.

The staff was friendly and the car was nice.
The wait was quite long getting the car. I was told it was easy to see the gas station at the airport upon the return but I didn’t. Someone from another rental helped me find it and actually rode with me. And they charged my credit card a $1300 deposit but haven’t credited it yet as promised.
Car wasn’t filled with gas. Had to to fight with Hertz about that. Didn’t believe me that I’d received an empty vehicle. Also over charged fur insurance.
Drop off was OK, but no closing invoice was issued when I dropped off. I was promised this would be emailed, but this did not materialise

Friendly service but slow as it’s africa! Didn’t get the car I was expecting so had to upgrade half way through rental.
After we told them no insurance they put it on the paper work then when we pointed it out he had to start the paperwork over again. Originally issued a car with no gas and smelled like cigarettes badly. Had to unpack our backs and go all the way back to the rental center. No apology. Just a silent reissue of keys. Drop off was chaotic. No return recipet was issued.
The car was clean.
You will get charged unexplained fees that will double the quoted Kayak rate, including a "fuel service fee" that no one will disclose to you until it shows up on your receipt and credit card statement. I will not be renting with Avis again.

It was a good car for the category I have selected.
The car had some noise in the wheels during the whole renting days, which I could not identify. I believe that if the car has gone through some check before being delivered, this slight problem could be fixed.
They did not show up at the airport to pick me up. I ended up renting another car.
They took the car to the wrong airport so we had to wait over two 2 hours. When they finally got there the guy was very rude and tried rushing me past the inspection. The guy dropping the car off left and when we went to start the rental car the battery was dead. Overall we were stuck 5 hours in a foreign country halfway around the world and booking.com customer support was absolutely no help. I will never book through a 3rd party every again.
