The car wasn’t as clean as other rental companies; and it smelled like cigarette smoke. Went over interior twice with a deodorizing cleaner - which helped some. Left windows cracked to keep it aired out. The pick up and drop off staff were very friendly and helpful. Gave us a discount for the smoky interior. Our battery died on the last day of our rental. Why-we couldn’t figure out. Alamo was very responsive and sent roadside assistance promptly.

Staff were nice.

I want aware that I couldn't use a debit card at that location. Had to drive all the way home and back to get a credit card. Lots of construction and traffic. Wasted an hour of time. Very inconvenient. That information should be BIG AND BOLD online.

Arrived at the airport on time. No one at the desk for at least 20 min. 9:30pm so was in the process of canceling and switching to Avis when he finally showed up. He left the airport to get something to eat......when he knew the flight was arriving. Not a smart move.

AZO is a small airport, i.e. no shuttle needed which is good.

It was difficult to find the Hertz cars in the dark, so I had to go back to the rental office and a Hertz colleague showed me the position at the parking lot. Maybe it would be a good idea to have the Hertz signs higher up at the parking lot.

We r NON smokers and car was smelling of smoke when we picked it up but we have no time to complaint as we r in hurry to get to Ohare airport.. we dropped car same day and all set… receipt of 222 usd was done and all set… to our surprise and shock we were charged additional 400 usd for smoking charges.. this is outrageous and kind of insult to us … we never got an email about charges and only noticed it on our credit card statements.. that’s rude and dangerous and mischief on Avis part to cheat customers.. We called Avis and we’re told smoking charges would be refunded but this Shud never have happened… Infact I am extremely disappointed with that allegation of smoking charges on non smokers.. God knows how many customers are charged with these charges without their knowledge and this is malicious from Avis I will never take Avis from now…

For being a 2022 the car had a loud humming noise the whole time I was driving it. It sounded like a snowmobile. Not the best cars I’ve had to rent. Definitely will not get a Subaru next time.

it was ok, it would be great if there was a more expedited way to return the vehicle.

The car I received was pretty basic, not what I usually get in the same categories from other companies. The vehicle had over 25k miles o it and the tires were worn making it unsafe to travel in the snow with.

The car was super clean and had all of the amenities that an out of towner would need. The service in Kalamazoo was super fast and easy. The service professional was very friendly and communicated well. She did however tell me that she was positive driving from Kalamazoo to Detroit would need half a tank of gas so, per her advice, I pre-purchased the half tank of gas. I actually used not even 1/8 of the tank. But the good news is that the professional at drop off in Detroit verified my gas use and refunded me the rest!

Car wasn't fully clean at pickup. Smelled like a smoker had rented previously. Was not informed of disabled auto side doors on van until midway through week long rental (turns out there is a recall that wasn't fixed yet-- would have been nice to know doors wouldn't work when signing off on rental). Key fob stoppped working midweek. Had to call roadside assistance to get car fixed.
