The BMW 3 series is a good car

The interiors were so smelly - horrible tobacco / cigarette smell that was so so damn strong.. and we had the car for 3 days so had to bear that stench for all the 3 days.. The GPS unit just didn't work well at all.. infact after the first day, I had to go to another car rental agency in Goreme (as I had rented the car from Istanbul but had driven out) and I was lucky that the other agency helped me to sort out the issue with the faulty GPS that Avis staff had given me.. infant, the unit was just not working properly at the time of handing over the car but then some support staff managed to somehow start it up and they assured me that all is ok, much to my despair the following day!! very irresponsible from such a leading rental agency..

They change the price of my rental 73%. When I showed them my reservation they said there system is showing them different price. I end up paying almost double.

Said it was in the terminal, after going through multiple different doors to find it, we went through a door that said do not enter and there was a security check point. We said, budget? They reached around the corner and yelled and someone came out with a folder, we went outside to the basement garage and waited for the car. The car was dirty, and was on empty when picked up. Overall just a shady operation. I chose budget because it’s an American company and I’m in a foreign country and wanted something familiar and safe. I didn’t feel safe while renting from budget in Kayseri Turkey. They also said they had to write my credit card number down in order to rent the car. Also, no gps was offered for us and with being in a foreign country, our service for cellphone gps was poor and the fear of getting lost was not fun.

2nd car we got was clean and working well, so at least they partially recovered their screw up

Unlike other car rental companies, they do not have a counter inside the airport and you need to walk outside to try to find them and they might not know if you arrive at domestic or international terminal. Our car had flat tire. They should have noticed this. Then they brought me a smaller car than what I had booked.
