Thrift was one of the worst experiences I have had with a car rental. Enterprise has consistently been far better and who I will use in the future. The front desk attendant would interrupt me and just wasn't easy to work with My vehicle's alignment was badly out - which I didn't notice until I was on my way and didn't have time to turn around. The vehicle definitely had been smoked in and they must have tried to mask the smell, but because the longer I drove in the car the worse it got. Finally, I transported a client in this vehicle - they had to roll the window down as soon as they got in the car. Embarrassing to say the least.

Unfortunately when we received the car we were told that it had a full tank. Since I was unfamiliar with the type of car, I didn’t know how to read the gas gage, so I took their word for it. That said, at some point within 30 mins a warring came up suggesting that we had about 5 miles till empty. To my surprise the tank was indeed empty. So I filled it up and upon return expressed my concern. Their response was we will take care of that for you and paid for the full tank. There wasn’t any more to discuss. I thanked them and went on my way.

Cigarette ashes all in the vehicle and smelled like cigarette smoke. Hertz in STL is a terrible place to get a rental. Added on costs I wasn’t aware. Customer service was terrible and I couldn’t get a hold of anyone when trying to call about the ashes. This company said it was supposed to be clean per covid standards and that was a lie.

Return was a breeze. They had a good selection of vehicles that matched my choice. After getting the car, it was quick getting out. Shuttle was fast and efficient. Picking up the car, there was about an 1.5-2 hour wait in line, then they rented my vehicle to another person as well so we had to go back inside.

Very disappointed with the staff when picking up. One guy was talking down to a customer. The rest acted like they would prefer to be anyplace else. My car was beat. Smelled like pot. Their other cities are fine. St Louis is the problem.

Busy night in the airport. Took forever to get a shuttle but several shuttles from other car rental companies came by as we waited. And the rental car was dirty. It was late at night so I didn't have time to ask them to reclean it.

Took 2 hours to get the car (1.5h in line to checkin + 30min waiting for the car after being told it would be brought to us). Car was dirty (even had dirty tissues/paper towels crumpled up in the doors. I won’t use Avis (or Budget, same line/counter/company) again

The car itself was ok. Not cleaned very well, but pretty comfortable and good gas mileage. However, the pick up in St. Louis at the airport was one of my worst customer service experiences ever. It was incredibly slow and inefficient. The employees did not care one way or another if they got customers out of there or not. We waited over an hour for a car and didn’t get the car we reserved. Only because we kept asking did we end up leaving when we did. I could go on, but it will just be more negative critiques.

Pick up & Drop off was as near perfect as possible.

I was not thrilled with the vehicle but that was NOT Alamo's fault. It was the make and model of the pickup. (I would not buy this truck). I think the exit of lot could be marked better but it was not horrible.

Nice sized SUV (Ford Escape) given I was hauling my 1-year-old around along with several others. The experience with Alamo was very nice as they got me in and out quickly which I cannot say enough positive things about given I was lugging a baby, car seat, pack n' play, backpack, and diaper bag all by myself.

Nothing really. GPS built-in would have been nice but my smartphone wedged near the dash did the trick.
