The price, size and the cleanliness of vehicle was just what you hope for when renting a car. So five stars for those aspects. 10 stars for Cynthia at the Alamo LAX! She helped us figure out how to do the self-check out which saved us from standing in line. So, self-check out sounds like perhaps Cynthia didn’t do much, not true. Cynthia walked me thru the process also while helping other customers. She was able to make decisions that mattered, like free upgrade and adding an extra driver. Cynthia also met us out in the lot to make sure the vehicle was going to fit our needs; she was willing to let us switch to anything larger for the same price. Cynthia helped us link phone to Bluetooth and gave suggestions for a Thai restaurant that would be open on Christmas Day. My wife and kids each mentioned how amazingly friendly and helpful Cynthia was. During the middle of our vacation my daughter randomly said “It’d be fun to hang out with Cynthia, she was so nice!”. We all agreed. Also, I didn’t get their names but the 2 women at the checkout gate were very friendly and helpful. We shared a laugh at my admittedly horrible ID photo…The double-take was timed perfectly, hilarious and good natured. Ha! Traveling is not always easy but with friendly PEOPLE and all of the combined gestures you’ve left a very positive impression. Thank you for the great customer service and for kicking-off our holiday trip with awesome positivity!

The car was clean-ish. Windows and mirrors were hazy inside and out. I finally pulled over and cleaned them. There was also a couple of small items left in the trunk from the previous renters.

Kayak had incorrect information about the shuttle. You need to take parking lot e shuttle and transfer to advantage shuttle. The advantage shuttle was filthy!!

The staff was friendly and the price was good.

We waited 50 minutes to get picked up from the airport. Then when we returned the car, in 90 degree weather, the air conditioning wasn't working in the shuttle and we sweated to death going back to the airport.

We waited for the Advantage shuttle for 45 minutes as all the other rental car shuttles passed repeatedly. Then we waited another 30 minutes in line to pick up.

The most unorganized staff. Unbearably difficult to get to their facility. Watched as the agents tried to rip off foreign customers. The worst ever.

Midway LAX did not consider my Visa credit card that’s affiliated with a major American department store a “traditional credit card” and did not accept it for payment. Unfortunately I do not use credit cards and only have one Visa that I use literally everywhere. Additionally, Midway LAX does not accept Apple Pay which was my other form of payment. Ended up leaving without a car and spending almost an hour on the phone trying to get a refund from third party car insurance vendor that I had already paid for. I guess that’s what happens when you try to be cheap and use a sh** company.

Nothing.

First off the pick up/drop offs location is not even at the airport and I was given no heads up about this. In order to get there, I would have had to order 2-3 Uber’s to get my entire family and luggage there. And then try to find 3 more Uber’s at 3 am to get back, upon our return. When I called to find out the location, initially, there employee was extremely rude. I did not pick up my rental and I used a different rental company. I won’t be using this them or kayak again. Kayak should have disclosed this info ahead of time.

the rental car agency does not have pickup at lax, you have to take a city bus (usually full) to the remote rental car pickup spot. then they pick you up in a sprinter van (also usually full). it took me well over an hour to get there, after i paid a shuttle driver from another company to drive me to the remote terminal. there were only 6 other customers ahead of me in line but it took over an hour to get through them, then when i got to my car i noticed there was only 1/4 tank of gas. the real kicker though, is when i arrived at my destination, i noticed all my luggage was soaked in whatever cleaner they used in the trunk. it smells of some kind of vinegar cleaner but even after 3 loads of washing, the scent and stain will not come out of my backpack. the good thing is that it was cheap. wish i had just spent a little extra. never ever again. avoid at all costs.

There were only minivans and a dodge charger. and Jeep.The price was double what was quoted. Ace would not honor the quote on any of the vehicles including the minivans. Ace does not pick u up at the airport with the other shuttles.Had to take a bus at the airport to a location near airport where Ace shuttle was waiting.

Ace gives you a good price in kayak when you get there is a totally different price. On top of that they really cheat you the company website rules and prices are different then the ones the representatives there give you. I was very disappointed and upset. My total was supposed to be 380 and change and it ended up being almost 600 dollars and I’m not talking about adding insurance or anything like that. They rip people off at this ace company. This isn’t kayak’s fault this is what they do at ace.

ACE rental LAX althought the wait and lines were long, the service by Don was great. He explained everything well and provided us with his professional opinion. I was grateful for Don. Returning the rental was a breeze, I want to shout out Francisco who was sweet and kind, he drove us back to the airport and his personality and brightness really made our day. Thanks

First time in L.A and ace personally made the first impression a negative one. Not willing to help, unprofessional, The car I got was beat up and smelled like weed, Also the attitude. The guy on the little ipad was talking to me as if I was some thug on the street. Never again, I would like for a manager to contact me at some point about my experience.

The representatives were very nice. I received a prompt call from a very nice person after my complaint about my experience. I was refunded the extra $10.00 I had been charged to get me to the airport in time to catch my flight.

Hidden charge - about $4.50 more than quoted by KAYAK. I had to pay $4+ for the inconvenience of waiting longer (they only run every 15 min) for a shuttle; than having to wait 15 mins for another pick up to take me to the car rental. The car was old and smelled. The carpeting was coming away from the floor.

They mixed up my pick up time. I was scheduled to pick up my vehicle at 12 noon, they had me picking up at 2pm. She was adamant about this 2pm pick up time until I showed her my reservation on my phone. After this got worked out, she told me that they not only didn't have the vehicle I requested, they only had one vehicle on site- a gigantic minivan, which isn't ideal for city driving. When returning the vehicle they drop you off about a mile away from the shuttle because, in our driver's words "We don't pay to enter the parking lot" A mile walk carrying luggage at the end of the trip isn't how you want to end a trip.

The price

Got a very dirty car. My pickup appointment was delayed by half hour due to short staffing. When returning the vehicle, i was treated poorly by staff. They weren't attentive in any way. Received a discount but i had to prove the vehicle was dirty...soo glad i took a video.

Took me over 40 minutes to get a car. First car I got had broken trunk lock. Instead of replacing this car, stuff starts to guide me how should I close this trunk. Overall, if you want cheap car, this is the place to go. If you want normal service, I wouldn't recommend this place.
