My rental was simple and (mostly) straightforward. I had to make an itinerary change for the end of my trip, and that introduced a few twists, but the local Alamo manager cleaned it all up fast. Car worked great, dropoff was fast and simple, and my experience was all a-one.

The line was an hour. I had a reservation and when I got to the ticket counter the woman said even though I had a reservation and confirmation number, I made my reservation late so I could not get a car and that they were out of cars when they were not.

The Budget reservation system was to slow. There was a line of a dozen people (only at Budget) who had to wait over an hour to get checked in. Everything else was great - the car, value, etc.

We picked up the vehicle at 10pm and returned it the following day at 8pm. They charged us a late fee because the paperwork showed 6am as the return time. The return time should be 24 hrs from when you picked it up. We were actually bringing it back early but the girl receiving the keys was extremely rude and unhelpful. I will never rent from budget again.

The person checking us in to pick up our car was kinda rude. She blamed me for her cat allergy since I own a cat. Our car itself was stinky. It smelled like smoke on the inside and had some residual skunk smell on the exterior was a nearby car that had hit a skunk earlier that day. I asked to change cars but the gal insisted the skunk was on another car. We kept the car, (partly for feeling guilty about owning a cat?) The smell was annoying, but we got through it. I was glad when we stopped the car off.

The van that I had reserved and paid for 3 months in advance was "not available" when we arrived to pick it up. I specifically needed a large vehicle for college graduation and move out and this affected plans and I had to scramble to make new arrangements which cost twice as much. Will never trust Hertz again.

We had prepaid the Chevy Malibu and the agent said we had a 7 passenger reserved but if we downgraded to a Ford Edge we would save some money. No refund was issued. When returning the vehicle there was no agent to accent the vehicle and poor instructions on how to return it without an agent.

We reserved a premium car. None were available (I understand) and we were given a Ford Ecosport. The smallest of SUV's. When we asked for a rate adjustment, they refused. Also the two drivers side tires were extremely low on pressure and missing valve stem caps. It is extremely difficult to find a source for airing up tires. When we returned to Sarasota, the pickup return location was chaotic. No one present to help, we didn't receive a final receipt, and the service overall was extremely poor. I guess the public are at the rental car companies mercy these days. Very disappointing.

Was given a "Supplier's Choice" car which meant the smallest, dirtiest car in their inventory. I can only imagine few people want a Ford Fiesta that was not only tiny but also still dirty. Both the mirrors and side windows were obstructed by what looked like water stains and finger prints. My partner and I were too tired and in a hurry to go back and change the vehicle at the time of pickup but should I ever use Hertz in Knoxville again I will be double checking the vehicle quality and size before driving off. Book "Supplier's Choice" at your own risk. The cost was only slightly reduced at the time of booking for the inconvenience that the vehicle provided.

Service was good. Car ran well. There was an awful smell in the car like someone had smoked weed in the car and tried to cover it up with some deodorant spray or something. It was pretty bad and did impact our enjoyment of the car for the week.

Car was fine but finding Payless in TYS (Knoxville) airport was almost impossible. They was no desk in the rental car area, I had to go to the parking lot to find them and even then the only signage that said “Payless” was one small (8”X11”) piece of paper that said Avis, Budget, Payless.

My reservation was for a last minute trip and the purpose for the trip was canceled the next day. When i called to cancel the reservation I was informed my fee was non refundable. It would be good customer service to have a pop up message to the non refundable matter before I submit my final reservation.

Knowing ahead of time that Payless was handled by Avis would have been helpful. Also having to drive a pickup truck or upgrade and pay more was a surprise and something that they should have done without a charge. We did not want a pickup truck!

Smooth process. Pickup was simple, the car (a RAV4) was brand new and clean, the drop off was seamless. I can't understand why anybody would go to one of those other pricey car rentals when this one was as perfect as it gets!

Honestly....nothing could have been improved. I bet I didn't spend more than 5 minutes TOTAL at the rental car counter and that includes pickup and drop off! Price was great, car was great, customer service was great. Seriously...nothing could have been improved.

Nice car, easy drop off procedure.

I arrived after 9:00pm because of a late flight which meant the booth was closed but thankfully the lady from Avis in the same booth managed to get me the car I had booked. Otherwise I'd have had to get a taxi and come back in the morning.

The reservation did not work. Terms and conditions applied that more than doubled the price (drop off fee). The agent at the desk was rude and unhelpful. Ended up going to Alamo which offered a decent price on the spot.

They had canceled our reservation and car not available. Our flight canceled and rescheduled to later in day- not under our control. Sales person not nice and seemed bothered that we were bothering her. Not helpful at all. We rented from budget - they were very helpful and actually less expensive

I booked a one-way rental, yet when I arrived at the airport the clerk told me they didn't do one-way rentals from this location. I showed her my reservation and she said too bad, it is not possible. She refused to let me speak with a manager (until the next day). I had to go through another rental company which ended up costing me more since it was last-minute.

The person that helped us pick up the rental was EXCELLENT. He was the only one at the national AND alamo desk. He had a long line of customers to deal with but was super friendly and helpful. We were impressed with his professionalism and personalized attention as we picked up our car. There were two issues with the rental (one was a headrest issue) but we did not realize until we already picked up the car. There was little to no time to exam the vehicle prior to pick up. but we feel like the staff should have noticed the issues. Either way, we were really happy with the car rental and would definitely rent through this service again. thank you

Èverything but pick up was positive. Line to pick up car was long. Waited 45 min to get to the counter. Then had to wait 20 min for the vehicle to be ready.

The tumbler when you turned the key stuck sometimes so you had to play with it to get it to turn. New Car strange!

Returning vehicle

1) Car had 46K miles and bad wheel bearing or out of balance tire (thud, thud, thud sound). 2) Took forever to get through counter person and then car wasn’t even available in garage so had to wait some more 3) As I drove car away I started noticing sound and decided to “live with it” versus going back through slow process.
