Pick up was fast and efficient. Cars were clean and new and reliable.

The whole insurance thing in Mexico is challenging and confusing. In this case we took the required 3rd party liability and declined everything else and used our credit card to cover rental car insurance. I always feel very unsure on if I am covered or not. Buying the full insurance package from the rental agency is very expensive.

Agent pleasant,, car ready, short ride to depot. Agent was able to reissue the agreement at the same price with full insurance coverage. The original agreement only included mandatory liability insurance although we though we booked with collision damage waiver. Price came out the same.

This is an independent National Franchisee. We thought we were booking with National. Everything was fine however.

Absolutely nothing. They refused to honor my reservation during a high-demand weekend.

Well, everything. This was one of the most distasteful business transactions and customer service disasters I've experienced. They wouldn't honor my reservation because I was using a Mexican national ID (issued by the Government of Mexico) for diplomats. This ID is issued and used just as any other Mexican national ID - there is no distinction, but the very unhelpful Alamo office refused to accept it. They demanded a passport. It was the exact same situation of Alamo in Mexico demanding a Mexican citizen present a passport in lieu of national IDs, which would be illegal. Nor did Alamo agree to transfer the reservation to others in my travelling party. The attendant, named Paulina, demanded that we make an entirely new reservation online, which equated to almost a 100 percent price mark up off my original reservation. I will never use another Alamo franchise again.

I was unable to rent a car. The address provided was incorrect, when I finally found the place I was there a few minutes and the guy said he couldn't read to me because it was 5:01 p.m. and they were now closed. Ridiculous

I made a reservation and showed up at the counter. They were out of cars. What's the point of a reservation? I had to scramble door to door at other car rental companies to find someone who still had vehicles.

The personnel at drop-off were efficient and kind.

When i went to pick up the car, no one was there to help me. the employee that was available was not an agent. They shuttled me to another franchise location but they didn’t have any cars at all. none. they said i might be able to get one, maybe, later in the day but they’d have to charge me significantly more than i was quoted on orbitz.

I was given practically a new car and have no problem driving for several days. I do buy full insurance from them to be safe even my credit card claims covering some of them because the total price is cheap enough.

Clowns. Try to force you to buy unnecessary insurance. Never had a problem renting cars in Mexico until I went there. Read similar reviews but thought I would try anyway. Wrong choice walked out went next door got the same car without any extra insurance (they tried to charge twice the cost of the rental) Don’t make the same mistake. Go with a different company.

They’re store wasn’t open even though on every online listing they should have been. A phone number for the store supervisor was posted on the door, I called and texted but got no response. I went elsewhere

Everything went smoothly. Pick up and drop off was efficient and quick.

Upon car pickup I was hit with insurance. i tried to explain that I had coverage through my credit card and taking their insurance could nullify my existing coverage but they would not rent the car without buying theirs. It tripled the quoted cost. Thankfully, all went smooth and the issue was not tested.

We had an appointment for 3 PM. I was early at 2:40 but they couldn't start the process until 3 PM. So OK. Then 20 minutes for paperwork and another 45 for the car to arrive and do the walk-around together. So we didn't have the car until 4:05 PM. And it's not like there were other customers.

HERZ Goldmember nr.62347703 R.J.L. van Vliet The requisted car was not avalable and the only replacement they were willing to give me without extra paying was an open pick-up with no projection cover for the laugage. I rejected, and there was no other chose given to pay an extra addition fee for the only upgrade car available. I had no choice otherwise I had no car and was stranded with my family (wife + 3 children). I will make an official complaint about the hole situation.

They did not have a car ready for me. And told me I was 8th on the waiting list. They said they would call me but did not. They gave me a number for head office. This caused me huge disruption to my holiday. This is the first time Hertz has ever let me down. Not even an apology.

I called Hertz three times trying to get cost of insurance for I arrive at the company to rent the car I was not able to get a quote for what the insurance would cost . At the Hertz pick up location I was quoted a price over US$300 for insurance for a two day rental. I then asked about a lower-priced insurance off for and they found a second coat of over $200 for insurance for the two days . Thankfully I have insurance from my credit card so I was able to decline this insurance . After I decline the insurance the person at the counter then wanted to sell me some documents in case I got in an accident for US$50 for a few pages printed material . I felt like this $50 price for a few pages of printed material that the company should’ve provided for free was out and out theft . At this point they inform you that my debit card would not be able to be used for the purchase of the rental . Thank goodness I had additional credit cards and was able to complete the transaction . I do not feel that Hertz should be associated with a company that does this kind of extreme pricing for insurance and does not inform the customer prior to arriving at the location of all of the additional cost .

FYI Dollar is now owned by Hertz and there is no longer a Dollar storefront. I had trouble finding the rental place because the confirmation email did not mention that I needed to go to Hertz and there is an old Dollar listing on google maps that no longer exists. When I finally found it, after calling, they told me they didn’t have any cars available. It was very stressful and a huge waste of time.

The car rental never happened, we showed up at the Dollar office and they had no record of our reservation and no cars to rent. They claimed to have not received it from Kayak. I rarely use Kayak and I don't really care where the break down occurred, will be booking directly with the car rental companies like I usually do going forward.
