Pricing, on pick up was told that normally the excess was €1250 but because I used Kayak the excess was the entire cost of the vehicle. This then meant I had to take out excess insurance in case of any incident. This should have been explained when booking. In my mind is misleading.

Offered an upgrade on collection which was miscommunicated to sound like it was free. Only became apparent when I was asked to present my credit card they wanted an extra €250 then proceeded to try and upsell claiming this was a 50% discounted upgrade.

Hi, When I showed up I found out that our car had been rented out by someone else because Europcar only holds only booked cars for 1 hour. I ended up with a bigger car than I needed (not convenient for city driving) and paid more than I had planned.

Unfortunately, I had to cancel my reservation due to COVID 19 restrictions. Though the company claimed they gave full refunds if cancelled prior to the reservation date when I tried to cancel the reservation online the website would not allow me to do so. I contacted their customer service and was told I could only do that 20 days before my reservation date I said this was unacceptable as that is not stated in the contract. He said he would put it through yet I recieved an email in early April asking me did I still want to cancel and if yes I would get my refund. This was at least 1 month after my cancellation. Then on the 2nd of April I received this email Dear Customer, We’ve received your request to cancel your booking. Your refund will be processed in 20 business days. Get more to spend on your next trip We know travel plans have been disrupted by Covid-19. If you are going to rebook your trip in the future, opt for a voucher instead and we’ll give you up to 25% extra. For example if your original booking was €200 we’ll give you a voucher for €250. Terrible divide between corporate and the people who actually rent the cars. Spent hundreds of dollars of our own money for two separate taxis because of a broken down car and we were treated like animals by the manager at Bordeaux airport. Go elsewhere for a rental because if something wrong happens it's a bit of a nightmare.

Due to flight and baggage delays, y the time we reached rental counter our car was gone. Agent found us a car but would not honor original price. Ended up spending almost double - $1,200 vs $600. Can Kayak help here, I've already sent my ckmpkaint directly to Budget and am awaiting their response.

Charged me $130 to clean the car at drop off. Over years and years, I’ve never been charged for cleaning. Had I known, I would have pulled off and vacuumed it myself for $5. Didn’t want to miss my flight, or I’d have done it. The staff were great, but the cleaning fee is completely out of the ordinary.

Car was fine. We tried to contact customer service 10 times to inquire about making a slight modification to our reservation. We spent a few hours going back and forth with different customer service agents until they finally told us that our information was set up incorrectly, so we couldn't make changes online. Every time we spoke to someone, they tried to transfer us to the "international line", which was absolutely useless. It was just an automated line where we couldn't talk to someone. We wasted a lot of time trying to modify our reservation. Please make your international customer service better.

We were threatened with a 1,000 Euro fee for returning the car two hours late. Each representative we spoke with gave a different story. Then no such fee was charged, again without explanation. Never again!

In Bordeaux the 1st Lady with whom we discussed the deal seemed to be tricky and manipulative but the 2nd one who gave us the key and guided through a concrete car leease related details was excellent and very very helpful. In Bordeaux we received amazing service: quick, efficient and very courtous.

When taking the car in Barcelona and discussing what is available things were not very clear in the beginning and seemed to be a bit tricky and overwhelming.

I made a mistake in the date of pick up and had to rent for one day prior to my official pick up time and the staff did everything possible to help make the impact of that as minimal as possible and retain the integretily of my American reservation rate saving me what could have been a thousand dollars in added costs.
