Customer service wasn’t so impressive. They don’t seem to have a good system of handing off calls made to the local rental desk when nobody’s there to cover the location. It gets sent off to a distant call center where they don’t have access to all the info. Their explanation: we use two different systems. Yeah, well that’s very uninteresting to the customer. Maybe you should use one system and stop the excuses. Also, include taxes and fees in your initial quote. Also, be more clear about how electronic tolls work. I’m waiting to be hit with all kinds of hidden charges, and the toll highways around chicago don’t allow cash payments.

When we arrived we were told there was only one clean vehicle available (Toyota Tacoma) and if we wanted anything else it would be dirty. Other than that no real problem in south bend. When I tried to drop it off in Chicago the address given to me was just a hotel (Hotel Loews) and they were unable to accept the car. Apparently they're listed as an Avis location because their guests can reserve a car at the front desk. Instead I found an overnight garage and picked a new Avis location in the morning. Hotel Loews should never have been listed as a drop-off location if they don't accept drop-offs.

Ease and efficiency at rental counter. Will use Avis again. Increase Number of Avis spots in parking lot. When returning vehicle I had to park in a National spot as all the Avis spots were taken.

Your website is misleading on the vehicle size. I wanted a chevy impala sized vehicle - emailed confirmation stated "chevy impala" . But at desk to pick up car i would have had to pay more for that class.. Clearly a bait and switch tactic. Wont use kayak again.

Yes, staff was friendly.

It was the customer service when trying to call South Bend I was always routed to corporate. No one was at the Enterprise desk in South Bend so no one walked around the car with me. A supervisor on the phone used a phone and/or had a soft spoken voice. I could not hear him.

Staff was friendly and efficient. I was in and out quickly. Great experience.

Only odd thing about renting in South Bend is there are no assigned spots. You everyone is walking around the lot hitting their car lock fob listening for the noise. It was actually kind of comical. But if the weather was bad or you were in a big hurry I could see how it would be irritating.

Drop off in Downtown Falmouth MA. was great, Attendant was helpful and friendly. Pick up in South Bend IN. Airport went well even though I forgot who was supplying the car and the Kayak email confirm was on my PC , not my phone, they found me, I got the car.

The Ford Fusion hybrid has a weird feature where the engine turns off when you stop at a light or drive-through. This feature can be turned off by a button on the dashboard.

We tried to get the van a day earlier... we started that task 4 days before our original pick up date...what a nightmare. So much so that we will never use Hertz again. Unbelievable that no one could get their business together to be able to figure out how we could rent the vehicle a day earlier.

People were obviously vaping in the car. Didn’t do a great job at getting smell out. For a car with only 8,000 miles it smelled.

Extremely disappointed as our agreement and payment was to/with Kayak NOT CarRentals.com. When we showed to pick up the rental, we turned away because of not having enough available credit on our major credit card. We were stuck with the $216 fee and NO car!!! At this point we're prepared to spread the word about Kayak car rentals....STAY AWAY and buyer beware. Please, we need our refund!

I always rent thru Dollar Rental when I go on trips because never once have I had unexpected charges or issues. Every time I get a great deal and it costs exactly what they said it would cost. I can't even tell you how much it is appreciated!

There was an after hours key drop that was a little confusing because there was a sign that said charges continue to accrue until the rental place opens again. Fortunately that did not happen and I was charged only for the amount of the rental after dropping the keys off on time.

Staff was great friendly, helpful, I really liked the minivan, It was my first time driving that make and model car and I decided that I may just go bye me one.

The instructions of use for the plate pass could of been explained, it's a metal box that is stuck on the windshield. I did.have to travel on the Indiana -Illinois toll way and did not know that the box contained a ez pass. So electronically the box was being picked up and I was pulling over to pay cash Lol. 3 days later I figured out what the metal thing on the windshield was. The staff did compensate me for my trouble with the platepass, and I was very pleased with the way they handled it.

One poor employee was asked to staff all of Dollar and Hertz. I waited more than 20 minutes in line. He was a terrific employee who was asked to do far too much. Not fair to him or to the customers.

I had a reservation but was made to wait several hours because there weren’t enough cars -only to discover that there were several cars in the lot! Also, I spent much more time on the phone with corporate office than the customer service at the rental desk.

After arranging for the rental several days in advance and prepaying, I arrived to pick up my rental only to find that they did not have a car available for me. Instead I was offered my pick of dirty vehicles that had not been cleaned or refilled. Ended up going to Hertz and spending more money to rent a car spur of the moment but at least they had cars.

vehicle was not ready when we got there, I have pictures of how filthy the vehicle was when we got it home and had a moment to look it over before our guests arived, had to clean it our selves, we were charged more than our itinerary says, very poor experience, would not recommend Budget!!!!!!!!

Had 5 cars in less than 24 hours. Car #1 had garbage in it and oil change light was on. Car #2, woman behind the counter left after giving me the key (about 11 pm) - and it had a flat tire! Had to call emergency road assistance, which came at 1 am, and paid over $100 to stay in a nearby hotel to return the car when Budget opened at 8 am (had a donut rather than a spare). BTW, I had not left the airport lot! Car #3 also had oil change light on, and same woman asked me how long I'd be driving the car, as if that mattered! Car #4 I drove off the lot and around town (about 60 miles) when the battery light came on (it was cold) and then the "service engine" light came on, and the dashboard also would "ding" periodically to remind me. So I returned it around 4 pm. Car #5 had a low tire, and I took it to where the maintenance area (employees only were allowed) to have them fill the tire before I drove off. RIDICULOUS. Will NEVER rent from Budget again.

Friendly lady at the counter. Budget never registered the return of the vehicle even though I followed instructions on the drop box. The customer service online never responded. The men on the phone (after the two hour hold) gave me no confirmation that the issue was cleared up and only promised to refund the thousands they charged my card for. I now have a latter saying I am being prosecuted if I don’t return the car (which is returned). I even drove back to the south bend airport where I rented the vehicle, and the man at the counter said it showed my car was turned in, but he couldn’t do anything about the refund. I would NEVER rent from them again. I have spent hours trying to Get this problem fixed, and it is still not fixed.
