Cheap Car Rentals in Wilmington New Hanover County Airport

Received a different class of vehicle. May have been an upgrade but was less pleasant to drive for a week than desired class.

Parking lot not well lit at all.

Routine as expected. Curious staff.

Drop off was quite a problem as they had no parking spots available as instructed to park the car in those spots and no one working at the time not couldn’t get any time of help on what to do over the phone either. That took a whole lot of extra minutes and we almost missed our flight. On top of that, I never got my receipt back after the opening hours so decided to call to make sure all was ok and they said the reservation number I had which was my hertz receipt number given by them wasn’t pulling up my information, was someone else. They couldn’t find my reservation with the number they provided me nor my drivers license nor my last name. Finally only by my credit card charge they found me but said it was a different reservation number than I had - which was my hertz receipt tho. And then they said it was still an open reservation as if I still had the car when I absolutely didn’t. So they still haven’t checked it out and finalized my rental. By 11pm I finally got the receipt email sent after calling them abs going through all that around 3pm and car was dropped off at 5am.

Ordered a small car. Got a GMC Yukon 4 wheel drive. Gas mileage was terrible. Huge vehicle.

Car was dirty and I had to stop along the route day 2 and add engine oil

Car was not very clean- I had to clean the inside and outside of the windshield. Other than that, it was a good experience.

So they don’t go through third party companies. So the reservation and car I was expecting never happened

The car was fine but had to call the company because they charged me $30 extra. The representative told me it was for taxes which turned out to be untrue. Currently waiting on a refund

$114 is high for a 1-day rental of a small car in a small city. Invoice of $130 was wrong, but she fixed it.

I received a call left on vm as I was on a plane enroute that my reservation was cancelled as Avis had no cars available. I checked with the customer rep upon arrival and was informed no vehicles had been available for 2 weeks. I should have been made aware of this when I made the reservation. I asked the customer rep why I wasn’t made aware and she said she didn’t know she didn’t make the rules. Extremely rude. And this was at 8 pm in the evening. I paid $75 to get to my residence.
