Cheap Car Rentals in Dayton, Newark

We showed up and even though they saw our reservation, they screamed at us that our rental car reservation was not being honored because we made it after midnight on a certain day. We said we’d made it the previous day. They said “oh…” and whispered to each other because they clearly didn’t know their own policy. Then when I asked if that meant our reservation would be honored, they started screaming at us again that we were not getting a car and we had to go elsewhere. We were still charged a no-show fee. Literally never again. I would rather crawl to my destination. This was a disgusting experience.

They were closed!! Gave my flight number and they didn’t have the decency to wait they closed 11pm in an airport!

The staff were rude and condescending. They said I did not have a reservation, and they refused to even look at my reservation confirmation. I will never book with Dollar again.

Terrible experience and actually never picked up vehicle.

The pick up at EWR airport was fine. The drop off at AVP airport was closed at 8PM Sunday night. I needed a 70 mile return trip the next morning to drop it off.

The car was ok

Please check the cars over more thoroughly. The tires were really in need of service and it caused issues in our trip.

I am not at all satisfied with the rental experience on your site! I found the experience unprofessional. First of all, the car was very small, not even two carry-on bags in the trunk. It said on the website that the car could be that choice or an equivalent model, but ours was clearly an inferior model. Why is it not possible to choose the model? It is important because there is a risk of theft if you leave the car parked with the suitcases in the back seat. Secondly, at the time of pick up I found myself still having to pay a lot of money for: - insurance (which I had already paid with Allianz suggested by your site. At the time of pick up they told me that it was not enough and they recommended another one) - add a second driver (it was not specified on the site that only one person could drive). I had decided to rent a car because it was a cheaper option, but If I had known I would have travelled by plane. I would have preferred to have the final price when I booked on your site!!!!

There is an additional charge of 250 USD on my credit card without any details or information on why this was charged

They were out of cars -- waited in the line for 30 minutes to be then told that there were no cars left!

Very easy transaction. Just a little pricey but that’s today’s world.

Newark check in not good. Other than that, all good. Car was a bit old, but ok.
