This is not a reflection on Hertz but Kayak - made the reservation thru Kayak for $473 - was supposed to get a confirmation from Hertz but did not - got on Hertz website to make sure I had a car reserved and it said I would need to pay $1100 at the Hertz desk. Made a new reservation thru Expedia at Alamo - received confirmation immediately.

The employee who helped me with pickup/drop off was amazing! Super friendly and helpful, and when I dropped off he remembered my name and our previous conversation we had during the pick up appointment the week before. A++ for customer service!

Got in the crowded line prior to my pickup time. Got to the counter 30 minutes prior to my scheduled time and went through the entire process, noticed there was an additional charge in my paperwork, asked them what it was and they then notified me that they were charging me for picking up an hour early. Got to the car and there were stains throughout and trash still in it. Showed up to the drop-off office and it was close. No instructions were given for dropping off the rental. Called every number available and no one answered. Circled around for more than 20 minutes until a neighboring hotel staff member helped us. An hour later, I received a notification from my bank that I was charged $100 by Hertz. Checked my email and there was no explanation.

Quick, efficient pickup. Speedy drop off. Warning light was on for oil check…company should have checked that out earlier and dealt with the recommended oil change!

Didn't give me the car I wanted, or even similar to what I wanted. Asked for a Sudan, got a nissan kicks. Car was horrifically uncomfortable. Rented for 2 days and only used it 1 day, refused to drive it again. Drove to salem and back once, arrived home with a neck, shoulder, and back ache. There was also a stain in the back that made the entire car smell terrible.

Horrible customer service. Nothing to like.

Reserved and received a confirmation number. Paid an uber to get us to the pickup location only to have a very rude young lady say they dont honor reservations made in the last 24 hours. Completely bad attitude, unapologetic for our wasted time and money and no real explanation given for any of it.

My car got a flat tire on the highway. When I returned the car, their main concern was that everyone in my group was okay, not about the car or the tire. It was refreshing.

The car we were coming down to Eugene in broke down, we asked Enterprise if we could pick it up that night or the next day, possibly with a small discount since we had to pay to take a train down to Eugene after our car was towed & we would only have the car for 1/2 days. I know I’m not entitled to anything, but it was a bummer when we had to pay the full price, and also that every person we talked to gave us completely different answers regarding opening/closing times, the latest/earliest we could pick up the car, etc. When we picked up the car, the customer service worker was very rude, wouldn’t answer our questions in full, and made us feel like we were a nuisance. I work in customer service, I’m not asking for overly positive workers, I would just prefer clear answers regarding the $40,000 car I was about to borrow. It was a lame weekend full of lame happenstances like this, what can you do?

Pick up and drop off were very quick and easy. The staff at either end (this was one way) were excellent.

Truly there is no room for improvement, based on my experience. It's disappointing to see others' reviews to the contrary.

Damage to the passenger front hubcap was significant, but not noted. It took time to stand in line at Eugene and to have the damage documented so I wasn’t liable. Additionally a dedicated desk agent would have sped up the process
