Everything was excellent except the drop off at the Bergen Airport. There are no signs to indicate rental car return until after one turns toward long term parking. (Then there are ample signs.). We didn’t know the rental return was in the long term parking. Our GPS was not helpful. We circled the Airport three times and asked people in the area three times. Only after going to the Hertz counter in the terminal did we learn where the return was located. Otherwise, we were very happy with the car and with Hertz.

Great service from Hertz staff. We had reserved an economy car through Kayak and they gave us an electric car initially, which didn’t have enough range for the trip we were planning. The staff helped resolve this but there were very few gas/hybrid cars available so be aware that this may be a problem for others if you plan to drive >300km at a time. It wasn’t clear from the Kayak rental that economy meant electric.

We didn’t get the car type we reserved which was an economy car. We were notified a week before that instead it would be a small electric car. This would have been fine because it is just the two of us and the 400 km mileage would have worked well due to all the long driving days we had planned. However instead was told all they had was a 7 seat van with 290 km mileage. It really impacted our vacation. Instead of enjoying it a lot of it was spent stressed and devoting much of our time trying to find charging stations and then waiting for our car to be charged. Very unsatisfactory.

The car was perfect for the traveling I was doing. Comfortable and clean. Was nice being able to rent a wifi device for the car. Pick up went well

The price I was quoted in my booking was WAY different than what I ended up actually having to pay... about $200 more! Be aware for all the fees and ask for clarification.

We drove a Volvo V70 in great condition.

I was an hour late for pick up and they had given away my car claiming this standard practice and comparing it to a hotel giving away your room if your are late (which has never happened to me). The only option they offered was an upgrade from a compact car to a luxury station wagon at 300NOK extra a day. They agreed on reducing the additional charge to 100NOK a day because they had made no attempt to contact me before giving away my car, but the whole experience was very negative. Between the upgrade, extra mileage, and the unexpected daily toll system fee, our rental cost double the price quoted on kayak.

The Ford Galaxy was great for my group of 5 adults. The diesel motor is quiet,powerful and quite economic despite the large load.We drove through the mountains to Bergen and it performed well. The service at the Sixt outlet in Oslo was good although some explanation on the navigation system would have been helpful.

The Sixt outlet at the Bergen airport was a bit confusing to find but the personal were very nice to deal with once found.

I reserved an "economy" car, but was given a Mercedes Benz with less than 5,000 km on it. Awesome car - but then was charged additional insurance for it.

I called a week before rental to confirm deposit amount so that I would have enough room available on credit card. Also inquired about any additional fees/deposits required at check-in (this was a rental abroad). When I showed up, the safety deposit was nearly 2x as much as was quoted, and 4x the rental price. Also, a deposit was required for toll roads - an additional $100 had to be reserved. Luckily, a friend had an extra card for emergencies and we were able to get the car. We returned the car outside office hours without a problem, but freaked when the final charge came in a week later. The "itemized" receipt was a list of codes that I couldn't decipher. I emailed the billing department (and heard back a week later), the codes were for insurances we had declined (but were applied because we were given a Mercedes), tolls, a parking ticket we never got, and the administrative fees for ticket. THE ADMINISTRATIVE FEES WERE THE SAME COST AS THE ALLEGED PARKING TICKET. I'm still trying to get proof of this parking ticket but haven't heard back. Currently disputing charges with credit card. I'LL NEVER RENT WITH SIXT AGAIN.
