When I arrived at the specified time of pickup, they didn't have a car for me to rent. This was a big problem, in part because the only available car in the airport was from Express Rent a Car and it had a nail in one tire, and a thumb tack in another. The whole experience was bad.

So several times the keyless start didn't recognize the key was there, until finally the car wouldn't even open. We had to open it using the manual key, but there's NO WAY TO start the car without the car simply 'recognizing' that the key is near the car. We FINALLY and MIRACULOUSLY got the car started and drove it directly to the hotel so we would be safe to have them come get it. They brought ANOTHER key and that didn't work either, so we switched vehicles and they asked me to fuel it up before I brought it back. What the heck? And then they charged me full price to fill it up when I returned the second car. I NEVER make poor reviews but these guys are THE WORST. How the heck am I going to fill up a car I can't start!????????!!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. I'm so angry I'm beyond more words.

Car I had reserved months prior was not available. To go from an suv to a yaris for 4 people with luggage was not good. Staff was not helpful at both ends of the trip. Don't rent from Thrifty at the Allbrook airport.

There was a "mandatory" insurance charge which was 3 times what the price of the car was....very disappointing that it wasn't listed when booking

Prepare to pay three times more for the cost of insurance. The rent was $87 and the insurance $ 240. And it is mandatory to take, they won´t allow the use of any other insurance, even though you have one. Do not expect the same service you receive in the USA. I booked an SUV and they gave me one of lower level (Creta instead of a Tucson) arguing that they were of the same level. It clearly is not. In Thrifty Panama, there is no policy to give you a better car if they do not have the one you rented, you get a worse car one for the same price, even if you disagree. They do not offer the transfer service to the hotel or airport. You should take a taxi in an area that is not safe. I do not recommend it.

Nothing!

There is no one at the counter. You have to call and after an hour wait, they show up. It gets worse, when we came back to drop off the car, there was no one there! We almost missed our flight. Every other company at that airport terminal told us this was normal for Ace and went on about their inability to provide even the most basic customer service.

Rather than being charged 35$ for 5 days as indicated by Kayak we were charged 25$ per day plus insurance. Our total, after we got out of all of the unecessary insurance ($400) was $240 to cover third party and collision, including the $125 for the car. The Avis agent was not adequately answering my questions. The tire began leaking air the moment we got the car (surprsiginly someone else we had met on our trip that rented with Avis also had the same tire Issue) and the tires were balding already. Either Avis is responsible and ripping off customers or Kayaks so called 'deals' are entirely false. We will not reserve a car through either organization again.
