The young woman who presented me the car was excellent in her warm manner, explanation and thoroughness. The young gentleman who received the car upon my return was equally through and gentile.

Was initially told they were out of cars and I would have had to wait a few hours or return the following day. I refused and they quickly “ found” an available car. Unfortunately, the rental desks at many of these agencies are the most challenging to deal with.

charged me for 22liters of petrol in a tank that has a 35litre max...the problem is, i returned it with 75% of a full tank. also no clear direction on returning car. have to walk keys to the office, which is 20min away.

I had to wait 2 hours to get my car because they don't have enough personnel. Upon return they don't have any body to do checkin. Then bill me 70 Euros for some supposed cleaning which I have no idea where it comes from.

Pickup and return was fast

The car was dirty inside and smelled really bad. I pointed it out at the pickup but was just brushed off. We had to leave and short on time, so I took the car anyways. It was not a pleasant drive though.

The dropoff in Paris was difficult. The rental office was closed, and we had to drop the car at a parking garage which was unmarked. We ended up parking the car on a street and walking into the office in order to drop the car. The attendant was very helpful, and assisted my husband with driving the car into the garage.

The car worked and did not break down.

Pick up was terribly slow. We waited almost a half hour before we were even able to get to the counter. Then had to walk to a different location to pick up the car. On getting to the garage, the car they offered us had not even been cleaned and was filthy on both the outside and the inside. We then had to wait another half hour before they gave us another car. Even though my invoice and bill were all in EUR, when I got my finall bill I noticed that, without my authorization, they had charged me in USD and charged me an extortionate conversion rate for the privilege. I used to have a high perception of Hertz but these sleazy tactics (which only amount to a couple of $ for them) make me want to put them into the same bucket as other sleazy operators such as Ryanair.
