Cheap Car Rentals in North Mountain, Phoenix

The car was not cleaned out after the last rental. The office seemed short staffed and was not very clean. It was a decent price for the rental.

They made the experience as difficult as possible. I did not rent with them, I went with a different company. Poor customer service. I will not rent with herz in the future.

The staff was great. They did not have my car size available so they offered me a free upgrade.

Everything worked very smoothly. We had a nice, new car with ApplePlay. Only issue was that we had to take the car in after one month to rewrite the contract even though we had booked for about five weeks. They actually wound up just extending the contract. Not sure why this was needed but it was just a minor inconvenience. No complaints.

My mistake, but I booked at a location 30miles from the airport and so...., of course I had a huge fee to pay to drop off at the airport when returning. AND, an uber fee to get me to the rental car location when we arrived at the airport. Car had many bings and scratches so that was a pain to take the time to go through that + later notices some plastic panel underneath the car that was hanging down almost to the ground. Inside of windshield was filthy so when the sun was directly shinning in it was dangerous driving.

Employees being empowered and giving the ability to make decisions to improve the customers experience. The car I received was dirty and windshield had wax He’s on them in the mirrors. He quickly give me another car.

The rental desk was well staffed with four agents. But, after you complete the paperwork you go down stairs to have a car assigned to you. It's not like other airports where the keys are in the car and you just go pick out a car in your rental class. At PHX, they actually walk you out to the car one-by-one. And, since there was ONE employee walking people out to the cars, it took FOREVER! The guy who walked us out the car was nice, but it's ridiculous that he was the only one doing it. To top it off, the car we ended up with was filthy. The steering wheel and console were covered in grime and the inside of the windows were filthy. The windows were so dirty that when the sun hit them, it caused a glare and you couldn't see anything. We ended up buying clorox wipes and windex to clean the car. We rented a Volkwagen Jetta for 5 day and it was $708.99. For that kind of money, I expect a much smoother experience.

The car's exterior was dirty and the inside of the windows needed to be cleaned.

I made this reservation 6 months prior to our trip. Our flight changed and I called Avis. I was told it is not their fault the airline changed the flight times. He said I had to cancel my reservation, but could get another rental for four times the money. No thanks Avis

Pickup from Budget took over an hour to wait in line to reiterate that I did not want to add anything extra to my rental, pay the deposit, etc. While customers were waiting in line, an employee came through (ostensibly to explain why the wait was so long), but he was extremely unhelpful. It took over another half hour to wait in line in the garage to pick up the actual car. All in all, picking up a car rental that I had pre-paid for online should not have taken close to two hours. The car itself was mostly clean and similar to what I expected to get with the rental. But the experience of picking it up was incredibly frustrating and inconvenient. Budget/Avis needs to do better.
