Cheap Car Rentals in Alameda, Portland

I rented from the downtown Portland Hertz office instead of at the airport due to large price difference. When I called the Hertz agent to find out which Max tram stop was closest to the office, the agent did not know where the Hertz office was located relative to the tram line. That would be helpful information.

They never gave us the rental even after paying for it

We reserved a mini van and when I went to pick it up, the only one available was dirty and didn’t have a full tank of gas. Thankfully another mini van came onto the lot before we left which was much cleaner and had a full tank of gas. We got that one which made the deal much better.

Our flight was delayed so we got there one and a half hour after our scheduled pickup time. We waited 20 minutes for them to "clean and sanitize" only to get in it and it was gross. Seats had powder on thim, smelled like cigarettes, food on radio controls, tobacco leaves near the shifter, and overall dirty. We will never rent from this location ever again.

I have never in my life had such an awful experience. How I was treated and spoken to by the staff girl was unreal after just not having my car for no reason. Will never rent with them again!

Cleaner car.

This was not at the airport. We went to the AVIS at the airport and they did not have any cars for us and the other rental place was closed. I will not be booking through kayak in the future.

Very efficient, van was brand new!

It would be nice if they had a shuttle to the airport. I had to take a taxi for a 3 mile ride and it cost me :$30.00.

We picked up our car on Christmas Eve. The scheduled time was noon. Turns out their Beaverton, OR branch closed at noon, but no one mentioned that, so if we were late, we wouldn't have gotten our car. When we made the reservation, we were going to return the car in Burbank, CA. But a massive snowstorm down the OR coast was now predicted on Christmas; 5 counties in OR declared a state of emergency, and several flights were cancelled. We decided to fly out of Seattle instead, and rent the car for one less day. And because we turned in the car a day early in Seattle instead of Burbank, instead of charging us $404 per our contract, Budget charged us $1042. We've been on the phone with customer service for the last three days. This company IS THE WORST.

This place was a nightmare. I rented a CX-5 or similar compact SUV. When I showed up to pick it up, i had to wait 15 min while the lady at the counter took a personal call. Then she told me all they had was a suburban for me but she couldn’t find the keys. The guy with the keys was Mia, and his walkie talkie and phone were apparently at the counter After waiting a very long time, the girl at the counter finally told me to walk to the parking garage to meet the guy with the keys. When I got to the car, he was still cleaning it. He stopped cleaning, handed me the keys, told me not to worry about the warning lights or the broken visor, and then disappeared before I could ask any questions. I got in the car and realized it only had half a tank- not a big deal but they just handed me a half-full gas guzzling machine for my 6 hr drive to the pre-identified drop off destination. I had to get gas twice which was not Part of the budget. I dropped the car off the next day, 2 hrs early, with more than half a tank of gas left, was ushered out quickly and told I was good to go. Now I see I’ve been charged more than 2.5x the amount I agreed to pay and I have NO idea why. I would absolutely not recommend this place.
