Key fob battery died and there was no way to lock the doors. Hertz drop at LAX was a bit chaotic. Hertz pickup at SMF was very good.

I ordered a 3hour rent juatto get from Sacramento airport to San Francisco airport. Then I realized tat I was supposed to droo it off at another SF location despite my specifixation of the two airports. Now Hertz wish to xharge me another 90usd for the fact I left it at the airport

The staff at the Dollar counter was really nice and communicative. Because of the general car and staff shortage currently in the US, we (and most of the people we saw in the car rental waiting area) had to wait hours for our cars. There wasn’t much space to sit and wait, so many of us were standing. The bathrooms were under construction and on the other side of the terminal. There also wasn’t a loudspeaker, so if you went outside for a minute to get some air or went to the bathroom, there was a risk of missing the agent calling your name to let you know your car was ready.

I would have appreciated someone to mark the dents on the car/cigarette smoke in the cabin (instead, I was told to mark them myself, and tell the employee at the receiving Budget Rental facility at the end of my place (different return) that they could call the originating Budget for "verification" even though they refused to mark anything in an official record). I found the overall price paid to be higher than what I was charged. They also refused to accept my auto insurance as coverage, requiring me to take full liability if something happened to the car. Very frustrating. Would not recommend.

The cat we originally picked up did not have good fuel economy. We drove it for 3 days and then rang Budget to ask about exchanging it. They said take it in to Sacramento airport desk and they will sort it. We did this and the gentleman at the counter could not have been more helpful. We picked a Hyundai Elantra and it was perfect for our trip down south to the Grand Canyon and southern national parks. Full marks to Budget for their customer service and no hassle car hire.

The first car I was given was smaller than I reserved because the orignal had not been cleaned yet. However, the one I was given was full of ants. I didn’t notice until the drive to my office, but by the time I arrived there I didn’t have time to return. Luckily I ended a meeting early allowing me to return for a new car and was given one actually in my class. This was a major hassle for me and made me late in leaving for my trip, not to mention having to spray to kill the ants in the first car I was given.

I had reserved a pickup truck and it wasn't available. But they did give me an suv. Then when I wanted to return the car they never emailed me any type of a receipt and I requested it. And the lady that did the check-in was very rude to me and I wasn't happy with her

Staff was extremely unprofessional and does not take accountability for their lack of thoroughness with their product. The van we rented was in severe need of a check-up - tail lights not working, oil change, alignment, electrical, etc.... when this brought to their attention they only made excuses and told us “well, you rented a van.” They didn’t care. Don’t rent a van from this company.
