Cheap Car Rentals in Little Italy, San Diego

When arriving at airport called number for shuttle to pick up only to be told the company went out of business stranding me at the airport with no rental and offered no help. Didn't receive any prior notice that they went out of business so I could make alternate arrangements

They refused to give me the car because “we don’t do rentals under 24 hours notice”, however it showed up on kayak. They refused to listen to this argument, blaming kayak instead.

I waited at the airport for an hour. Was late to my appointment.

I was told they didn’t have a car for me. So was left without wheels that day. NOT GOOD.

The evening male Long Beach staff member was particularly good to work with. Everything from checkout to return was fast and easy. There was a problem with the passenger side front seat belt, but the company was willing to handle it. In the end, we just "lived with it" for the few hours left.

They canceled my reservation and wrecked my whole trip

If you don't mind spending around $30 round trip for taxi fare to get to this place from the Rental Car Center, you will receive around 60% discount from Avis fares at the Center. Good service, nice people!

Drop off in Oakland was horrible. Person kept yelling at us to leave keys in car while we were making sure we had all our stuff. Avis lady in San Diego was nice

The rental car olace eas not at the airport. I had no way of knowing that and spent alot of extra money on uber rides. Huge headache and very bad experience. You need a huge disclaimer that says no transportation avsilable to and from rental car place.

Made 5 pm reservation and no one there to pick up car. Contacted service was no help as hung up on me 2 times and never called back and wasn’t able to help as tried to transfer to airport at almost 3 x the price and didn’t responsibility for car not available at time requested. They didn’t contact me at number to come earlier if they were not going to be there.

The Budget car rental service staff were very professional. Vehicle was in perfect condition. The return process very easy and also professional staff at drop off location.

My Turo got cancelled upon arriving in San Diego, so very last minute i had to book a new rental car. I booked through kayak with NU car rental. I had to take a shuttle from the airport to the rental car center AND THEN had to wait for their van to come to the shuttle pick up spot and take me to their location off site. It was over an hour long process. When we finally got to the location, it was an old outdated building with trash bins set out to collect water from the leaking ceiling! Their internet wasn't work during my pick up and return and the first lady renting me the car had to hot spot off her phone! I actually ended up needing to return the car a day earlier and their internet still was not working! He mentioned me getting a refund for returning the car a day early, but I am sure I'll have to call on it. I won't rent through this company moving forward.

Our representative was very nice. However, we had to take two shuttles to get to the location in San Diego. I thought it was where Hertz in the other car dealerships are but they’re not and you have to take a shuttle there and then once you get there, take another another shuttle and it’s the same way going back they won’t take you directly to the airport so it’s not really very convenient unless you’re saving a lot of money you could always jump in to a cab which is about $12 from their office to the airport

Couldn’t believe it…!! Called Budget and the quote was $460. NU car was $140. Thought for sure it was a scam. I was wonderfully wrong. I spent $80 more and upgraded to a Dodge Charger. SWEET….!!! Made my trip so much better. I even washed it a few days in, hahaha…it was too nice not to. I’m back home and driving my big truck wishing I was renting from NU Car again. I’ll never go anywhere else again…ever.

When I booked a box truck online it was listed at $28/day with 800 miles for my rental period of 5 days. When I arrived at the office, after walking a mile (no shuttle service), I was told it was 99 cents per mile. No mileage included. I felt like it was a bait and switch. The agent wasn't even nice about it. He said online booking information was wrong. I left and called an Uber to get me to my destination. Really disappointed.
