I rented a mustang(or equivalent) from Sanford to take to Daytona. I thought it would be fun for me and my teenage girls for a day and drive to New Smyrna for the day and then drive A1A. We got Kia and told no sports car available…sorry. The Kia smelled like cigarette smoke. I CC was charged an additional $200 that I didn’t know about. I called customer service. Sat on phone for some time. Betsy(nice enough, but difficult to understand) told me the $200 was a deposit and would be removed, fine( was not told this when car was picked up) she told me 10% could be taken off bill. I said, “unacceptable, I specifically got a sports car for a day, when I HADt transportation to get me from the airport to Daytona. This was the ONLY reason why I got the rental was for the sports car. For the experience with the girls! And now I have a regular car that smells like cigarette smoke. Now I swore she said she would take 50% off( but it definitely wasn’t 10% at this point ) and A voucher for three days of a rental car that she would send to my email for further use. I said this would be fine. I couldn’t get into my email at the time due to internet. The vouchers are for one way, which when coming to Daytona I always would need two way AND the vouchers are not even for the kind of car that I tried to rent in the first place! I at least deserve this! And the best part is that my invoice bill was $130.15. I drop off the car and my final bill is $130.15. I said to the lady, “ um, there was supposed to be a discount on my bill.” She states, there was 10% discount added. Well that would have made my bill $117.50 then since my initial total was $130.15. What else was added?!? I filled it with gas, nothing else should have been charged! AND she stated she was taking 50% off my bill! I am so exhausted, angry and disheartened by this whole experience.
