The staff was amazing. Friendly and efficient

Great service, got the car I reserved. It was clean. Note that if you have CDW insurance coverage on your credit card and plan on using that (and not purchasing theirs), you must provide the written proof from your credit card company upon picking up the car. Otherwise, they won't rent their vehicle. They're also off site a few KM away from EDI airport. They have a free shuttle, but you must allow an extra 30 minutes in your plans especially if you return the car and fly out. Knowing these details will make your experience much better.

Dropping off the car after hours no one let us know that we needed to pay an additional fee. Also, we had to drop it off at a nearby gas station, however the attendant there had no idea what we were talking about. After arguing with him for ages, making us late to get to the airport, he finally contacted his manager who explained the car return process to him and we were able to drop off the car.

The guys agreed to stay later as my flight went past their opening times. They were really friendly and made the collection and drop off hassle free.

The staff was friendly, easy access

Shania was who dealt with our booking on the phone before hand and also when I arrived on the day for pick up, she was lovely and so helpful. The car was brand new with only two miles on the clock and everything was clean and easy to get started with.

The car was to come with a GPS but it wasn’t installed. They don’t provide portable GPS units. Fortunately we have a cell phone with us and the charge cord fits. They were very helpful in explaining the car’s features and the car manual was supplied.

We had a great experience with Craig at the rental counter when we realized we booked from the city location. He got us taken care of and on our way quickly

They cancelled my car the night before I arrived in Edinburgh and then charged me a cancellation fee!!! Still trying to get my money back. This company is a sham. Stay well clear!

The price that was quoted was actually closer to double that when we picked up

Pick-up took longer than expected but overall we were very pleased.

My husband and I took a trip to Scotland, which we were very excited about. We reserved a car in advance, a manual gas vehicle, for our road trip all across the country. Upon arriving to pick up our vehicle, we were told that instead of a manual gas vehicle, they would be giving us an automatic electric vehicle. I voiced my discomfort to the staff at have an EV, but we were assured there were tons of charging stations all across the country and that we could “even charge at our hotel or Airbnbs” in the evenings. Unfortunately, none of the things the staff told us was true. There are not a lot of charging places in Scotland, we could consistently had to drive out of our way to reach them, but also most of them don’t take credit cards. It took us several days and many hours to figure out how to set up an account with the company that owns many of the charging stations, Chargeplace Scotland. Charging at our Airbnbs was also not really an option as it typically makes the hosts uncomfortable, and would get about a 20% charge for charging overnight. We spent over 16+ hours of our vacation either trying to find charging locations, waiting for a charging spot to open, driving to a charging location to find it was not working, or just sitting waiting for the car to charge. In lieu of our spoiled vacation, Hertz offered a $50 rental certificate, which does nothing for an entire ruined trip. I would not recommend using Hertz in Scotland, and if you travel to Scotland, do not let them talk you into an electric vehicle.

Staff - very slow - one person and a queue

Our original car, Peugeot 2008 was mechanically faulty. The clutch broke and caused the car the inability to move 15/20 minutes after picking up the vehicle. Lots of smoke etc. We were on a motorway at the time, No verge so a dangerous area to stop, we called recovery and after an hour a tow truck was sent, We returned to our pick point and eventually were given a new vehicle, We are from overseas. This did cause some distress to me ( the driver). Also having to pay £65 to return the car to a different location a half hour away was I thought an unnecessary expense.

Easy pickup and drop off. Van was perfect for 8 people to tour Scotland.

Everything went perfect. The cost for renting this van was huge though.

I booked an 8 seater van and was given a Peugeot 5008 instead. Had booked the vehicle via a 3rd party some 3 months before hand. The reason given for the change of vehicle was that they were busy. I did question that when the booking was taken they had the vehicle I wanted so why not now? No real reason was given other than they were busy. To give the staff their due, they did offer me 2 vehicles for the same price if the 5008 was not big enough. I must also say that the staff were pleasant ands tried their best around the situation they had to deal with which was in all likelyhood out of their control. Other than the wrong vehicle and the delay the replacement vehicle caused the vehicle was good and drop off very easy.

Very easy pick up and drop off, helpful staff, no sense of anyone trying to charge for damages - All very fair and reasonable, and done in a professional but friendly manner.
