Had a terrible experience. Showed up to pick up car and there was noone at the Avis counter for 45 minutes. Then due to being overbooked my car was not cleaned or sanitized.

Very helpful and sympathetic AVIS staff. Reservation was cancelled at the desk with minimal issues.

I can't remember renting a car and being charged a mileage fee above and beyond the base price, taxes and other fees that are usually included in the quoted total. Even then, when I was presented with the "estimated cost" that substantially exceeded the price quoted on Kayak, Avis was only "estimating" 80 miles @ $0.30/mile when the rental agreement clearly stated that the car would be returned at a location >300 miles away! Very deceptive on both Kayak and Avis' parts! Thankfully, I had the option of driving my own vehicle and the reservation was cancelled.

I didn't get to pick up my car. I arrived at enterprise st 8 a.m. to get my car. There was line around the building. At 9 a.m. they announced they didnt have any cars ready. I stayed in the line until 930. It was extremely hot outside. I was also number 9 in line and they only helped 3 people while I was there

Nissan Versa as a mid size, while the car got good gas mileage it was small and did not drive well, affected dramatically by slight breeze and steering pulled. It was a challenge to drive for a road trip.

It was very easy to schedule the reservation online. The price was unbeatable. The staff was very friendly and pickup was smooth.

We had cancelled a reservation from Hertz when we reserved the Thrifty rental because of a $170 price difference. Since the companies are affiliated somehow, the agent could see both rentals, even though one was cancelled. Rather than trying to investigate more using confirmation numbers, she just picked one and told us we would need to call the hotline to make sure it was the right one. The hotline was also not very helpful, so we just prayed it was the right one and we wouldn't be out a a couple hundred dollars. It is still unclear what exactly the cost will be, as there are still charges pending on our credit card.

I made a reservation for a car. I went to pick up location and they wouldn't give me a car because they didnt want it returned in the location of my reservation. I had to pay 60$ for a taxi and 443$ to get a flight to get back home because they let me stranded. Im really upset. I had to spend over 500$ to get back home. Terrible experience and nobody is offering to refund me or cover the expenses. I will never book a car through this website.

Communication between online systems need to do better at talking to each other. My email confirmation stated a pickup of rental at 10:00am but on site Hertz was tracking 9:00am so my vehicle was GONE! Generic phone number that does not let you talk to onsite personnel is terrible. I had an email confirmation that someone would pick me up from the airport and transport me to Hertz. Never showed up. I was calling the number and the prompts would not let me actually talk to a person. When I finally arrived to Shreveport Hertz (Youree Drive) my vehicle rental was GONE and she knew nothing about my pickup even though I showed her I had an email confirmation.
