The lady who met me when I dropped off the car in San Francisco was EXCELLENT! Very friendly! However, the guy who helped me when I picked up the car in Tallahassee had all the personality of a wet noodle. He was not friendly at all. Also, the car was not really very clean inside and the inside of the windshield was particularly horrible! I don't think I've ever driven in a vehicle that had such a filthy windshield on the inside before.

Car was dirty at pickup. On drop off, attendant didn’t check us in or give us a receipt. Just yelled to leave the keys and we’ll get an email. Still haven’t gotten an email.

The people at Hertz, especially the manager and Stephanie really gave me excellent service. I wanted to upgrade the car I rented, and the manager allowed me to do that, even though the car was reserved by another renter (I am assuming this was for a future rental, as I was only renting for the day). Then, my car battery died at the rental agency, and when I returned my car, Stephanie and one of the other employees went the extra mile (in the rain!) to me get my battery charged so I could make it home. Great service and very nice people!

They said they would refund the cab ride from and to the airport with proper receipts, and they did.

My plane was late and I am not from where I needed the car. I was told the system was down for maintenance (at 11 pm?) and they would not be able to give me a car - they did not expect the system to come back up for 3 hours. In other words, I had to find my own way to my hotel and back again the next day to pick up the car once the system was up. No company runs maintenance at that hour! The guy behind the desk was, in my opinion, a bit too glib about the situation and offered no help. I was quite disturbed by his attitude! It was not easy to find a cab at that hour.

When we arrived, on time, at 7:00 pm there was no one in the Thrifty booth. A sign referred us to the Avis booth. The Avis clerk told us that Thrifty had given our car to someone else. It would take a while to get another one. One and 45 minutes later we cancelled the reservation by phone and rented from Budget. They had us on the road within 20 minutes. The service person at Budget was personable and very helpful. We got the Budget rental for $200.00 less than the Thrifty rental. Perhaps they need to change their name. They definitely need to learn what the word "service" means. I'll NEVER go to Thrifty again.

I reserved a car and when I got there they informed me that they were all out of cars. I started getting upset cause it took me an hour to get there and the guy asked if I would be ok with a mini van. I said ok and figured I was gonna end up paying 3 times more. They apologized for the inconvience and discounted the entire thing so I paid the same price for the car. They had really great customer service.

I'm not usually a minivan guy (It was really nice though).

I arrived at the location and they didn't have my reservation and there was no vehicle available for me at that time. I had to go across town and came back with nothing. The people at Enterprise acted as if they didn't even care. Very disappointed and will never go there again.

The desk clerk was slow, unconcerned with the line, and disinterested in providing good customer service. She mumbled a few questions, skipped the standard ones about bringing the car back with a full tank of gas, and I had to ask her to repeat herself several times. Honestly she couldn't have been less interested. The car itself had an overwhelming odor of tobacco and mint. It was nauseating. If the line hadn't been so slow and the clerk so unhelpful, I would have requested a different car. Also, although I booked a medium car, I was given a Grand Cherokee which is a large SUV. I would have liked to have a choice about this -- as the car I requested was a VW Jetta "or similar". This does not seem similar.

Arrived at location and reserved car was not available. Apparently due to a safety recall. Was offered alternative but they were not acceptable for the purpose as they had inadequate luggage room. Was never contacted regarding issue, so w wasted over an hour on trip to location.

Traveling and I was unaware that I needed my credit card, so I was denied a rental car at the airport. I was stranded in the middle of an unknown city until a stranger assisted me. We should be informed what your requirements are before our arrival!

Sat there for over an hour and he did not have a car available so that the detail guys did not show up and he was running way behind along with about 15 other reservations. Very poor service. If he is been straightforward and told me when I got to the counter that it was not going to be Ready for a good while I would've walk next-door and got a car next-door and I wouldn't of been upset.
