It took 30 minutes after getting there (at our pickup time) to get the car despite being third in line, with no apologies for the wait, which was disappointing. If we had stricter time constraints it would have been hard to be so patient. For the second time now, we booked a compact car and they didn't have one so we had to get a bigger one. I don't drive often so that bothers me! Beyond those things, the car itself was fine.

I was given and electric vehicle that did not hold its charge. I had to stop and charge for over an hour every 150-180 miles. Traveling as a female alone, I got stuck charging in a terrible location at 10 pm the first night. I had to stay in a hotel because I could not make it to my destination. Even after charging, I could not make it to my destination the next day. I did not feel safe. The dashboard that tells you how many miles you have till empty would drop 10-15 miles unexpectedly and I was constantly watching it. This was a terrible experience. EVs should not be rented. This battery had clearly been depleted and it was not suitable for highway driving. On top of that, there is not adequate charging infrastructure yet to rent these cars. I’d like my hotel cost or the cost to rent the car to be reimbursed by Hertz. This caused my immense stress and messed up my travel plans significantly. Please tell me how to proceed.

They cancelled my reservation and did nothing to rectify it. I ended up having to take a bus two hours away to get a car because they were sold out.

Great price. We had to stand in line in the cold for 1 1/2 hours in the parking deck to get the car due to our train trip being canceled, but otherwise we had a great experience.

I am an incoming academician to the US. When I rented the car, i paid 82$ on the website of KAYAK in addition to 12$. However, Budget charged me $20 more during the renting. I should expect that such an action should be more obvious in your website.

Pick up at Washington Union was horrible. Took 90 minutes in line for the staff to check in less than 10 people. No sense of urgency. Manual paperwork felt like the dark ages compared to other car rental companies. Would not use again unless they had the only available cars in town!

It was the absolute worst. I rented a compact car for one day to run errands. When I got there around 9am they didn't have any cars available and said the wait would be about an hour.They asked for my phone number and said they would call when the car is ready. I walked around Union Station for 45 minutes and then went home. By the time I got home they finally called and so I trekked back. Then they said the only vehicle available is a full-size Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. More than half day was lost and so I could accomplish what I needed to and I had to drive this huge inefficient truck in the city. Avis is the dumps, avoid if possible.

I never got to rent a car with Thrifty. My booking was for collection in Washington DC in a central city location, when I got there a security guard informed me the Thrifty office had been closed for over a year. I called the help desk and the customer service agent on the phone said “our system says that office is still open, but I can see on google maps it shows ‘Permanently closed’… maybe go to the airport and see if they can help?” Which is pretty shocking from a corporate help desk. When I arrived at the airport they couldn’t help me and couldn’t hire me a car. So I went to Dollar instead. Would not recommend.
