I'm renting many vehicles this summer and none with Hertz b/c of the price. I got a car for 9 days that costs only $200 more than what I rented for less than 48 hours. The brakes need work on the van we rented as well.

We were in a hurry to pick up the car on returning the car it was raining and we discovered the car's tires were bald. Poor upkeep on vehicles.

When I went to pick up the vehicle it wasn’t even at the pickup point. I had to either wait for another hour for it to arrive or drive 5 miles across town and pickup at another location. I chose to drive to other location. I was not compensated for the extra time and delay. I rented a dodge pickup. I was traveling a total distance of 1700 miles. Going with the wind the vehicle made 11.5 miles per gallon. On my return trip I was driving into the wind and the vehicle averaged 8.8 miles to the gallon. Last year I rented a dodge pickup from hertz and got over 20 miles per gallon at approximately the same miles. I returned the vehicle on 3-5-2022 to the east Wichita Kansas location and reported the poor gas mileage. The gentleman was not friendly and didn’t care that I had a very bad experience. Unless compensated, I will never rent from Budget again. Gary Willson Ellsworth county Kansas

Not a damn thing

I booked this on 3/8 for the 5/12-5-15 trip. I was told it was good to go. Lies. Dollar and Kayak never disclosed that if you where going to use a debit card, you must pass a credit check. My credit is a bit low, but I had the money in my account and had budgeted not only for the cost of the rental, but a $300 deposit. So after I was told, 800+ Miles from home, A few hours from reuniting my wife with her daughter who she had not seen in 12 years.. that Dollar was not going to provide me a car unless I could provide a credit card (That I don't have), I went to Avis, paid more, got a car and got customer service that cared and worked for me.. AND it was a $200 deposit. So even though I paid more, in the end, I got a car, made the trip and my wife was with her daughter for not only Mothers day, but for her HS Graduation. When Dollar failed, Avis came through for us. I will never use Dollar, no Kayak again and this is being shared far and wide.

The minivan was absolutely the dirtiest car I have ever rented. there were water bottles, applesauce cups, cookies, wrappers and general filth inside. I would have returned it when I got home but we leaving town right away. when I brought it to the kid at the desk at my return he had no apologies or anything to say.

Frustrating. I'm a long-time Alamo renter (and fan). But we got into a car that REEKED of cigarettes, and immediately reported that. We were told "oh, we'll make sure to credit you for that." When we returned the car at the end of our rental, that hadn't happened (no credit at all, no notation on the receipt). We called, and were told that someone from Burbank would be in touch. When we got the call from someone at Burbank, it was as if he hadn't looked at the record at all, and his message was "well, when you return the car, we can ..." WHAT?? The car was returned DAYS before this call was placed. SO frustrating - and ... why did we get a cigarette-reeking car in the first place? Someone had clearly sprayed one or two pumps of air freshener in it, but that quickly dissipated. Very, very, very disappointing.
