The southern island of New Zealand enjoys beautiful summer weather, which marks the high season, lasting from around the start of December through until March.

The 7 mile route from Christchurch International Airport (CHC) into the city centre takes around 30 minutes by bus. You can also choose an express service which costs a little more but takes less time. Shuttle services are offered by cab firms, and there are ordinary taxis to catch as well, all of them licensed by the airport. You can also arrange a car rental from the arrivals terminal, but it’s advisable to book this beforehand.
