When is the best time to fly to Krabi?
Krabi welcomes constant high temperatures throughout the year, with lows around 25 to 26 degrees Celsius and highs around 31 to 34 degrees. The peak and off seasons coincide with the dry and rainy periods.
Peak Season:
The best time to visit this laid back resort in Thailand is during the months of November to April. At this time of year you can enjoy uninterrupted glorious sunshine without any rain. The wonderful climate however, comes at a cost – visitors will find both flights to Krabi and accommodation to be at its most expensive. As is expected, the area will also be at its busiest during the peak season. The Christmas and New Year period is particularly popular.
Off Season:
The cheapest time for accommodation, airfares and local travel is during the monsoon season which generally occurs in May through to October. Keep in mind that the rain can be unpredictable – days can be made up of short, heavy showers and sunshine or unbroken rain can fall for days.
Krabi overview
The exciting tourist resort of Krabi is located on the West coast of Southern Thailand. The quaint town of Krabi attracts tourists from around the world many of whom choose to visit the nearby National Parks of Ko Phi Phi and Tharnbok Kharanee. Getting around Krabi
The cheapest way to travel around town and the surrounding areas is by songthaew, a sort of open end large pickup truck with long wooden seats inside. This type of transport is what many of the locals use, so do what they do to save cash. Another option is a tuk tuk, a motorbike taxi on wheels. It’s a great way to get about and cheap too.
Getting from the Airport to the City
After a flight to Krabi International Airport (KVB) you’ll find plenty of local minibuses, songthaew and tuk tuks outside the main airport terminal building. There are also car hire options available inside the airport or taxi services which should only take around 15 minutes to get you into town as the airport is located just 4 miles (7 km) east of the town centre. It’s advisable to take a yellow metered taxi where the price will be clearly displayed throughout your journey.
